a great outing for those that play a lot of golf and those that have played once in their life. Food is solid and reasonably priced. Drinks aren’t charging you and arm and a leg.

Golf in general needs ways to grow the game. The time, expense, and difficulty all work against golf as a hobby for many people. Top Golf seems like a way to at least get more people to occasionally pick up a club.

Are there stats on how Top Golf impacts local rounds played?

Can most able bodied men that play golf a lot not hit a long iron 216?

I assume that is 90% of this board.

Yep. It really is a fun time, especially if you have a group go at night. It’s just fun. Every time I go, the majority I see there look like they barely have ever played golf, so it is getting tons of new players to try.

Not sure, but I know some of the pros at some of the public courses in bham, and they have all said they’ve definitely seen a positive impact on rounds being played at their courses since Top Golf opened.

Well originally what was said was most can hit it 216 with long irons. The average golfer is not hitting their long irons 216. The average golfer especially isn’t hitting long irons 216 at top golf with flight restricted balls.

I’ve never been, they really have flight restricted balls? Interesting

Well, they don’t want people hitting it over the nets. Regardless, most golfers aren’t hitting a 3 or 4 iron or something 216.

My normal 7i is 160. At topgolf I hit it in the front part of the 150 target, so about 145. I'm sure the chip inside has something to do with the flight.

I don’t even carry long irons. 216 would be beyond my best 7 wood. I might could get there with my 5 wood, but it may be my 3 wood if it’s not rolling out.
