I played Atchafalaya yesterday. The course is in great need of TLC. I went into 2 bunkers and just dropped out of them. There is no way I am playing that.
The course is interesting. I understand it used to be in prime shape. But the greens are very inconsistent and there are weeds every where.
The par 5 are unique and you really have to think about what to do your first time playing.
It can be a little repetitive. Holes 4,5,8, and 14 are basically the same hole.

Played it last week (Monday). The bunkers are unplayable and the greens were in really bad shape. It's such a great layout - shame it's in such poor condition.

It looks like they are starting to, but they have a LONG way to go. The amount of bunkers on that course is absurd and, like I said, not a single one of them was playable last Monday.
It will take them until 2021 to get all of them into playable shape again if I had to guess.
