I’m certainly not saying it’s all of them. And I too know plenty of members even with red carts who rarely get a chance to go out for long periods of time. Neither group is who I referred to. I don’t think they’d quit after a dues increase. But I digress. Course is in good shape. Fairways tight from lots of play. I’d like to pay a little more to see improvements even if it means the guys who do nothing but golf complain and/or leave. They complain anyway.

[RANT ON]

As if 18 isn’t hard enough, we had to shoot our second shots in between red cart members fishing in the canal who wouldn’t move. I hit a second shot I was happy with, but I almost wish I would’ve shanked my ball into them.

The marshals at Greystone do basically nothing as far as I can tell. They don’t even enforce tee times. People roll out without a tee time constantly. Teens roll out of their backyard to the nearest hole and just start playing.

Multiple times I’ve played at Gstone and had people walking their dog on the course, cutting in front of us, had a guy looking for balls in the woods one time just appear from nowhere, also had a pack of mutts run up on us on 17 green.

There is a lot of opportunity here.

I've played out there. Would love them to punch and sand their fairways. So much of it reminds me of Pelican Point hardpan. The layout and target nature of Greystone make it a much better course than Pelican, though.

One thing that still baffles me about Greystone is the inconsistent speeds of the greens.

I’ve noticed that too.
Fast: 1-3, 9,10, 18
Slow: 4-8, 11-17

Yep! I'll normally miss 1 due to it be a bit slick. Leave 2 short because of 1. Race it by 3 cause 2... dial it in on the 5 only to be surprised by 9. Gets me every round

16 might be the fastest green out there right now. Wind and sun exposure time makes that one speed up quicker than the rest. Same can be said for 5-7 which are getting more exposure without the trees that used to be there. I’ve never found 1-3 to be different. 4 maybe a little slower toward the back. 13 and 14 seem slower. I find it to be minimal though. I rarely think about green speeds out there. If you were a member in that 2017-2020 time frame, you know where those greens used to be. These are excellent compared to where they were then.
