I’m thinking about buying a pencil type golf bag and only carrying 8-9 clubs sometimes when I walk.

Anyone have a Sunday set up?

I want to start walking more but carrying 14 clubs is a drag.

Frankly, I'd rather walk with a pushcart and all my clubs than carry 6 fewer clubs in a light bag. You get the benefits of walking without the strain on the back.

I just got the Sunday Loma XL and used it for the first time today. It has the double strap. I had originally got the regular Loma, it is a little smaller and has the single strap. The Loma is supposed to carry 6-7 clubs and the XL 10 clubs. I am only carrying 5 so it’s pretty light. I really enjoyed it.

How do you like playing with the half the amount of clubs?

Scores still relatively the same?

Well, I am not very good to begin with. I played 9 today and it was , bogey, double bogey, par, bogey, bogey………quad, quad, quint…..personally, I think it is helping me. I just got tired today. I’m recovering from a hip replacement and I haven’t played in about 3 months. It’s simpler and I’m learning how to actually strike the ball.

A few clubs don't make that much different when I walk. The only time I'll put just a few clubs in my walking bag is for a range / practice session. Maybe just the 3h, 5i, 7i and 9i.

No reason to play a round with me and not have all 14 clubs.

I'm Sunday bag 100% of the time because I like the way the bag looks. Carrying it is nice, especially if I eliminate some clubs. But the limited pockets can suck if you make it your full time bag.

I have a Jones bag, so no stand. Takes an adjustment but not too bad.

I got the Jones Trouper and love it. Has two separate straps so you can single strap it. They have several models that are even lighter and look good too.

Get a nice push cart. Walk all the time, even in the summer.

I have looked at these as well as the Rover to add a second bag for range and Par 3 courses, love the design. They have several big sales throughout the year as well.
