Having played roughly 15 courses up there multiple times, I suggest the following:
1. Wolf Creek (1 hour and 20 minute drive from the Strip to Mesquite, NV but well worth the drive); one of the most beautiful golf courses you will ever play.
2. Reflection Bay in Henderson, NV on Lake Las Vegas (a Nicklaus design)
3. Ro Secco (now called Serket Golf Club in Henderson; Tee box on one side of the canyon and green on the other side; very scenic and fun layout.
4. Revere Golf Blub in Henderson; 36 holes overlooking Las Vegas.
5. Angel Park; 36 holes
6. Paiute; 54 holes
If you have a pro that can get you on Southshore Country Club (private), it is well worth the money. Some of the most scenic holes and wildlife you will see.
Do not waste your time or money with Boulder Creek, Chimera, Desert Pines, or Painted Desert.
