Jesus Christ. Either you guys are dense or I didn't do a sufficient job of describing the situation but I didn't think I had to give every little fricking detail in order to get some input on the "how far is too far" wrt reacting to a close call.
He wasn't aiming at the green. Fade/slice helped its way there. Unintentionally bad luck / good luck, however you want to view it.
I didn't have a chance to grab him or tell him to hold up.
I figured it hit the guy for him to be that pissed off, hence asking him where it hit him, trying to pacify the situation. He was heated, my friend was heated. I wasn't making assumptions without knowing exactly what was said before I got within hearing distance.
Yes I told the 2 guys I wouldn't recommend messing with him, for a reason.
A shank is an accident, so was his shot hitting the green. I explained this enough times, guys..

Someone is definitely dense in this conversation.
Not sure how many times you need to explain yourself and have people tell you that you’re in the wrong before you get it.

My cart has gotten smoked several times on 18 at Oakbourne. I have never been aggressive towards anyone.

Not sure you can read at this point. But I bet you're fun to play with

I would just apologize and move on

That’s not a mistake or an accident, that’s being stupid.

You should probably focus more on counting…. Like how many upvotes and downvotes each of you are getting. Pretty obvious where the board nets out on this.
It’s not difficult. If your best shot can get there, don’t do it. I actually like to give myself a 40 or 50 yard buffer, so they don’t even hear it land. It’s not a race to see how quick you can finish.

The board nets out on he's a dumbass and I am wrong. But the question wasn't whether or not he should have waited, or what I should have done. But rather, how do you react to the antagonism. A few people got it, most did not.

Absolutely and that would have been my response. I can't control the dude, but that may be the last time I play with him.

Had this happen one day. I hit the ball long and one day while playing with my FIL, we lost my ball into the sun. As we found his ball, the Marshall drive up to us and asked which one of us was hitting the ball like a mule. We was both caught off guard and the marshal went on to say that he was supposed to be bitching at me but he was super impressed by the drive. Obviously I was apologetic and not realizing I could have touched the group in front of me.
That’s all I got and it sounds like y’all had a bad day on the course.

I had a friend told me once on a par 5 while waiting to hit my 2nd shot since I thought that it was possible to roll up on others on the green. "They will be impressed by the shot more than being mad because you hit on them"
Our group was hit on multiple times one day but I wasn't mad because we were a group of 4 and a group of 5 was almost 2 holes ahead of us. I was pissed at their slow play more than I was of getting hit upon. Nothing worse than playing with a slow group that refuses to let another group of 4 play thru.
