Noticed that the US Open is doing a weekly update for some of the local qualifiers, should be entertaining to follow along. I’ll post the links below for previous weeks.
Week 4
Notable names: Tony Romo, Mardy Fish, Willie Mack, Tommy Gainey, John Chaffee
Made it through: Thomas Lehman, Turk Pettit, Luke Colton, Philip Barbaree Jr, Jessy Huebner
Players already exempt

The two-stage process begins with 18-hole local qualifiers between April 16 and May 19, conducted at 110 sites in 43 U.S. states, Canada and Mexico. Those players who advance will join a group of locally exempt players in final qualifying, which will be conducted over 36 holes at 13 sites between May 19 and June 2.

Looks like he did not make it through the local qualifier in Abilene, but is that former LSU Tiger John Peterson that made it through?

Has to be.
ETA: I see a current LSU player and a former LSU player who transferred out made it through.

We will keep this a US Open thread, but figured I could mention the PGA Championship has announced their field
LINK
A total of 16 LIV golfers invited if you include John Catlin (who is surprisingly scheduled to play on Asian Tour in Japan this weekend).
ETA: Catlin opened with a 76 (+4), probably in his best interest to miss the cut lol

Hilarious that they are playing US Open Q at a dog track like this. Pathetic.

Romo shot a 71 & did not make it through. Qualifiers shot between 64-68. Turk Pettit (LIV Golfer back in 2022, now playing out of Ruston, LA) made it with a 67.

My daughter was T2 after the first 18 in our local qualifier and was standing in the middle of the 5th fairway - in first place… 12.5 holes and she would have been the 11th 16 year old and under to make the US Open (women’s) since 1976… the following 25 minutes I will review for the next 20 years were like watching the Red Sox in Game 6 of the ‘86 World Series…. As Bum Phillips said - next year she’ll kick the door in haha - such is golf
