I’m a lower handicap than you

Yes it was. Pros on the senior tour still hit it that far. Used to play with one of them till he left for college. Yes that was a long time ago.

You were playing with more loft, higher CoG and a balata, you were not fitting a pitching wedge 150 yards. Neither was Tiger Woods, John Daly, or DLIII

The frick?? I came across an old clip of Tiger hitting a PW from 185 out in some thick arse grass and putting that ball damn near on the hole..

I use a fairly traditionally lofted PW and at 45 I'm not far off from that number.. Hell if I were playing some off these clubs with jacked lofts that would be a breeze

2000 Firestone. Jumper out of the rough, swung as hard as he physically could, and landed the ball 15-20 yards short because it wasn’t going to spin. This is after the introduction of the ProV1

That’s not traditional loft and the construction of the club is still different

Solid 6 iron should do the trick or a hard 7 depending on slope and windage

TD Golf Board: where every poster hits it further than the longest Tour pro, but can’t break 90

Imagine thinking you were the only long ball hitter

Won long drive competition in my last scramble a few weeks ago. Felt good

Longest drive Ive ever had was 370 yards. Drove a par 4 green. I also drove the green on 18 at Mobile Country Club a few years ago. That was only 368, but it was on the front fringe so about 355. Got a crazy good roll up the hill.

Shoot in the mid 70s on normal rounds. 84 on bad ones. Average is around 80. Lowest round was a 70 on the Falls RTJ course. Not bad, but i really wanna break 70

And that's still further than 150 yards.. out of the rough mind you.. He was using some proto Titleist blades and a Nike ball..

I was referring to my age..

Also, I said fairly traditional and I wasn't referring to pre 70's lofts .. average PW in the 60's was like 52° which is a Gap these days..
I was referring to something in the past 30 years.. average on players PW ranged from 45-49 depends on manufacturer

You are aware the ball goes further out of the rough in some instances no?

Yes, so not a balata. Do you know what that is?

That’s a 12-15 yard difference in carry distance

Because the chances that you hit it farther than the longest best golfers on the planet is about .001%

Edit: Thanks for confirming. 162 ball speed with driver ain’t getting anywhere close to what you are saying

like i said, got a wicked roll up the hill last year for the 355 drive. I can still poke it out there over 300 in my middle age. How about you? Still trying to reach 250?

Oh look, a pissing contest.

To the OP, look into a 7 wood or 5 hybrid, which should get you to the middle of your current gap.
