For those of you who don't know, zeldathon is a group of people on twitch who play all the zelda games for 6 days to raise money for charity.

I just started BoTW yesterday, and played for about 3 hours. I did all the Shrines in the first section, and started moving east. I want my horse already dammit. Tired of running around on foot.

I don't remember where exactly, but there's a group of them close to the beginning of the game. They'll tutorialize you on how to catch one.

My son got his horse after he cleared the first area, got the glider, and went to the second area. He got a horse shortly after getting to the second area. Not sure how. I just know he started blabbing about having a horse at some point.

They’re not all that hard to find. Quite a few right below the Plateau.
And you won’t be using your horse as much as you think. You’ll much rather be climbing over mountains than riding a damn limiting horse that doesn’t want to go where you want it to.

Well that's disappointing, I remember using my Horse a lot in Ochirina of Time. I guess with all the vertical mobility in this game the horse isn't really useful.
