This game is crazy.

No spoilers yet, I'm in Chapter 7. It gets nuts, more focused though in terms of plot.

Still a way cool game. Running about 20 Rare Blades now, if anyone has questions, let me know.

I'm 70 hours and 4 acts into this game and I just played Tiger Tiger for the first time. I'm an idiot.

But one basically just been crystal farming, merc missions, and exploring for a good while now. About to start advancing my way through chapter 4.

This game is quickly rising to become one of my all time favorite Nintendo games.

Wulfirc has replaced Pyra as my starting blade.

For my party: I have full ATK blades on Rex, full heal blades on chickcat and now Popi is a very capable tank.

Won't matter for long

There are a few characters in this game who are rock solid, one being the Chapter 4 add. So great.

Also I highly suggest the Expansion pass. The early items were amazing to have and the recent additions (One being a legendary core and more poppi point stuff) really helps out.

How far are you?

Chapter 4 spoilers:

I just beat the classic annoying as frick Nintendo level in that old factory with the chicken people.

Before I start investing a bunch of time into morag and brighid, are the going to stick around for a while. After Vandam I'm nervous to invest in new people.

The mystery of the game is not knowing what and when things happen though

I will say that there a couple of ways they make obvious when and when not to invest in characters. For instance, could you ever bond a blade to Vandham?

Just had the worst thing happen to me today playing xenoblade. Was at the theater part and parents had come to visit while I was gaming out. And so....uh...there was like 6-7 shots of strictly Pyra's tits and my mom kept making chest puns and I almost think she was jealous

Dad was there and I was about to crack under the pressure

I got this game on Christmas, and am about 8 hours in and really starting to dig it.

Was having fun at first but wasn’t sure how I felt overall as I didn’t really get the battle system. I’m such a Final Fantasy fan (especially old school Final Fantasy) that I’m used to casting healing spells and what have you. Wasn’t really sure how this game worked because I hadn’t played the other ones.

Now as I’m getting into it with multiple blades, and having a “Healer” type blade that is good at farming potions, I am starting to understand the battle system and understand the strategy of it. It’s a lot of fun.

I’m at Torigoth and running around in the field seeing all the different level monsters, especially the level 80+ giant ape, is kinda great knowing I’ll slowly get to where I can take everything on.

World building is top notch in all of the Xenoblade games. The sense of exploration is huge, although these zones seem a little smaller than the two previous titles.

I'll keep this post spoiler free:

The one consistent problem I have is Nia is an absolutely terrible party healer. I don't know why or if it's something I'm doing. I control Rex as a "wild warrior" with two awesome Fighters and a tank. And I have my other party member as a full tank, and it functions very well, but Nia as a full healer never gets the job done.

I gave my third party member a healer blade just to help out. It's annoying.

What healing blades do you have? There are some that are significantly better at group healing than others, plus, I always like a healing blade on Rex not the other member, so I can control the healing output. The AI does a really good job at tanking fwiw.

You also need the right blades on the 4th character for it to tank well.....

Just want to say I've been having no trouble with the combat at all but I just finally grasped the chaining combo paths at the correct elements and holy shite it changes everything.

First time I got a IV move hitting it blew my mind. It's like a whole new dimension opened up in the combat and now I can wreck enemies instead of slogging along to beat them.

The joys of discovering combat are not over, trust me.

They changed the combat for XC2, significantly actually. There's still the same ideas of arts and specials, and Break--->Topple, but they layered on some elements and customization that make it way deeper.
