It's really not.
Microsoft is not nearly as worried as Sony is about pushing their hardware. They are more worried about selling games and services for any device they can get them on to.

Been an Xbox guy since the 360. Hearing rumors ff16 is going to be a PS exclusive. I’ll be switching back if so

$50-100 less than PS5. I don’t think MS really cares about making money on the console. They’ve been shifting all their products to subscription models (see Office 360, windows plans, etc.) so they’re just going to use the console as a loss leader.
