My son was in middle of Fortnite game when all of a sudden, the other players can’t hear him talking; he can still hear them.

Checked the headset independently and seems to work fine; is it something in game settings ??

Any help appreciated as I’m old and dumb.

TIA !

this happens a lot when I'm playing GR:W...seems to just be the latest quirk..I have to either do a hard reset, or mute/unmute myself a few times..Mixed bag of what might work for you

Mine did the same thing. I got a new headset and it still does not work. I think it is something in the settings where the Xbox does not recognize the headset.

My son is very frustrated by it.

the mics on most gaming headsets are fragile. this is why i always recommend buying a regular headset and a boom mic. then if one or the other craps out u can just replace that. also you get better components

There has to be a solution for this- my son’s headset stopped working a few days ago randomly. We thought it was the controller since the headset worked on other devices (i.e. ipad).

We now have tried 3 controllers, and 3 headsets- 2 new headsets and 1 new controller. This has gotten ridiculously expensive.

Have followed all of Microsoft’s troubleshooting as well as every random jackass on You Tube. Seems like the problem is common, but no fix- there’s no way Microsoft is letting tens of thousands of users worldwide down like this.
