Honestly the people who haven't been able to get into realms like Faerlina and Herod just need to bite the bullet and move. There are like 10 servers with no queue right now but 12k people lining up to get into Faerlina. The initial issue was Blizzard's mistake for not having enough choice but at this point it's the community being stubborn generating this problem.

im just gonna go to bed at 8 and get up at 3am to play a few hours before work. Sat in que for an hour and it still said 3 hours left. if theres still a que at 3am ill play on Westfall.
Edit. if theyre releaing brand new realms where i can start even with everyone i'll do that. says tomorrow at 9:00 pm, that eastern?

Most of the time Blizz announces using PST, but you may want to double check that.

its 9pm EST. if you click on the time slot on the forum post it specifies. I guess Id rather do that then start behind on Westfall with prices already rising. I need my wands lol.

Most of my characters are still really low. I’ve been bouncing around enjoying the ride. Plus, work is crazy right now so I don’t have a lot of time to play. Heading up to Columbus for the first game of the year. When I get back I’ll spend Labor Day playing a lot.

Having said that, even the realms they've added after launch have had queues. Blizzard has openly admitted they weren't prepared for this kind of reaction to Classic's launch.
On a completely unrelated note, a tidbit from my adventures in Azeroth. Last night I ran Ragefire Chasm with Kevin Jordan, the original vanilla WoW class designer. Really cool guy. He happened to be streaming when it happened. Interactions like that are exactly why I chose the streamer server.
