It was a huge jump. The jump from PS2/Xbox to PS3/Xbox 360 was amazing!

I try and play old games that I missed but it can be hard. The ps1 era is not doable for me unless there is nostalgia or a replay I want to experience. Ps2/Xbox era I can do sometimes but it isn't easy, usually that's just for nostalgia too. Basically if it isn't a part of this generation, I probably won't play it.
eta: For example I just tryed playing splinter cell pandora tomorrow on my ps3. It was made for ps2 and is just too out of date. Skipping ahead to chaos theory and hoping for a better result.

Early 3D graphics have aged the worst graphically and they're the hardest for me to go back too as well.
I mean, I love Ocarina of Time, but it's hard not to look at Hyrule Field, a landscape that once impressed me with it's "vastness" and think about how barren, flat, and boring it is.
You've got to make a lot of concessions that you don't have to with old 2D games.

Very true. I haven't played ocarina of time on n64 in a long time. They did a good job cleaning it up for 3ds. even xbox/PS2 games are hard though. What usually gets me there is how hard the controls are. You don't realize how far game mechanics have come until you play those games again.
