This may be my favorite game of all time. I didn't know anything about the franchise when I first played it but was absolutely in awe of the story telling. I'll never forget not really understanding the nuances of the game yet and doing the side quest with the werewolf in the basement. Drove me nuts, but made me understand the game. After that, I was completely hooked. TW3 was just a masterclass in what open world games could be and, aside from RDR2, is the reason I can't really play them anymore.

I normally stay away from these massive open world, story driven RPGs.
Funny…This is why I like this board. This genre is my absolute favorite. It’s my escapism.

I enjoyed bare knuckle brawling and beating the ever living shite out of cocky bartenders in GWENT.

Man I'm literally trying to postpone a replay of this game as long as I can so as to forget as much of it as I can before I restart. I want to experience it all again. Easily a top 5 all time game for me. It really got me into the series and I've now read all the books and am watching the show (Dandelion in the books and games is by far my favorite character, but he's he's very mediocre in the show. Probably my biggest gripe of many about the show).
But yeah the game is a masterpiece.
Edit:
I actually picked up Witcher 2 on a steam sale many years ago, before w3 came out. I played maybe an hour or two before giving up. About a year ago I decided to give it another go and really really liked it. Not anywhere as good as 3, but I would highly recommend giving it a shot if you loved 3. The combat has a steep learning curve but once you figure it out and get past the into the game really gets into a groove.

I don’t know how far along you are, but in my opinion, the first season is good, not great. And nothing afterwards is worth watching. fricking shame what they did with that show.

Slowly making my way through s3. I think S1 was very good, though not great, but showed à lot of promise and had me hyped up for S2, which was meh. S3 is even worse in my opinion but I'm sure I'll end up making it through it.
