Right, and Sony has the Amazon PlayStation Store offering cheaper digital games.
Killzone and Knack are $40 and almost every other Amazon digital code for ps4 is $49.99 or has been at various times and they usually offer a $5 Amazon Instant Video credit with them as well. It's nice and only going to get better so at least that's good regarding pricing.
I'd still rather pay a subscription of $15 a month and just rent digital versions, I don't see why Gamefly can't offer something like that or Sony considering PS+ offers a 1 hour trial of games which is at least better than nothing before you buy.

Because digital rights are not as easy as we make them. It takes time to set that up and you have to have companies that are willing to work with you on it.

Well yeah, I'm saying with their high marketing headed by an NBA star and 1.5 million subscribers they should be able to put something together.
It's not like Gamefly is small anymore.

No matter how big Gamefly the fact is that a lot of Devs/publishers don't like them.
Devs and pubs get zero revenue when you rent a game vs buy. I am sure it would change under a digital model where they would get pennies for everytime the game is rented, sort of like Pandora and musicians, but they would still be losing money and sales. That is the biggest obstacle to an all digital rental service.

This, they'd have to find a middle ground.
The amount of subscribers they'd gain from a service like that not having to wait days to get a game would probably double maybe more. They already offer older PC games digitally with a subscription so they're not completely foreign to it.
At 15.99 a month plus gaining more subs, find a damn way and make it happen.
Wishful thinking.

Netflix is huge but look how long it took them to get streaming going and they still don't have a lot of stuff. Look at the damn music industry, napster is the only reason they ever let their music get sold digitally.

Yeah, mine does at the moment too, but I'm moving into a cabin I'm in the process of building at the moment, and once completed, the white would look amazing as a centerpiece of my living room

Clearly, which was obvious by our choice of going Caucasian MS > Asian Sony.

I could take this further but I don't want to get banned

I wouldn't mind if MS turned gold into something more. Like one subscription to XBL, Xbox video, Xbox music offering there own streaming services for music movies/tv and games and charge like $100 a year

I never post on the gaming board, but you sir are a Godsend! I was always pissed off about not being able to stream from my computer anymore! Uploading to skydrive and watching from there was a huge hassle! Thanks man!
