Here's a few things:
Some Monopolies are easier to get than others because people land on those properties more frequently. Get those Monopolies.
Next, you can control the bank by buying the game out of houses. If you put 4 houses on each of your properties you will win the game by attrition.
People have to buy houses to buy hotels. And they have to buy 4 of them.
There are some other nuances too...but that's pretty much the basics. Make your enemies run out of money...in every way possible.

Yea in Monopoly Property and Houses/Hotels>>>>>>> Money status.
So buy up as much land as possible, even if you can block someone from acheving all 3 properties, and then work trades when most properties are taken, and try to build.

It's just about getting monopolies and building houses. You can have one monopoly and win the game if you manage to block everybody else from getting one. You should almost never trade to give someone a monopoly unless it gives you one too.
