As compared to a standard FPS like call of duty or battlefield?

Think of Team Fortress, but in a Japanese shonen manga with Blizzard’s political agenda mixed in there as well.

Awesome characters and abilities, well-designed maps, and it necessitates working as a team to win. At high levels, one player can’t win games alone

constant influx of new characters and maps too, all for free

Overwatch is a game I lump in with League of Legends and Dota 2 aka games with toxic and annoying fanbases that are a turn off.

(bring on the downvotes )

I like all the free updates. Anytime there’s a new map or character, you get it for free. It’s a great model that keeps the game fresh and also doesn’t splinter the player base because everyone has all the same DLC. I wish more games like Battlefield would do this, because inevitably a $15 DLC comes out that a lot of people don’t get and suddenly you’ve split the player base and lowered traffic in the vanilla servers.

The fan base alone turned me off to the game after like....a week.

this

plus all the characters have all their abilities and guns unlocked from the beginning. no need to lvl up to unlock shite. only cosmetic stuff to buy with real money. quick games, easy to get a quick match in without sinking a massive amount of time into it. blizzards holiday events are pretty great as well.

Man I don't know. I watch the championship at Blizzcon and I doubt South Korea wins without their player called Flower.

I saw that dude absolutely DOMINATE matches as Widowmaker and Pharah

I don't disagree, but I think you can turn off voice chat and in game chat no?

I don't play games to be involved in the community. frick the community.

I could never imagine doing this. Playing a game without the ability to talk about it would bore me to tears.

So no game is fun unless you can talk about it?

I haven’t played the game in months but I always had fun playing with friends. I never solo queued so I can’t give an opinion on that.

I always thought that part of the mass appeal of the game was that it’s an easy game to learn to play. There is definitely a skill gap, but people who suck arse can still play the game without some crazy learning curve.

And you have to change heroes during a game to play different parts.

The frick?

I don't talk to people at all about gaming.

I'll drop some opinions on here, but that's about it.
