What is #aragate, and how it affects you (twitch and personal property discuss.)

So over the weekend a twitch channel I'm a mod on... kinda went insane, and the story has even had some coverage at BBC (I will link it below). So this whole thing is insane, basically a pretty popular streamer who has been around a long time gets into a divorce... and then insanity proceeds:
Where is Ara_Gaming?!
BBC Article: Fans protest after Twitch account switch
Discussion on Hosting, LLC, and what it means
So this thing has gotten kinda crazy, what is everyone's thoughts on this? It's pretty interesting, and I'm thinking this case will cause a lot of precedence going forward when it comes to "what do you really own" when streaming.

This is a very interesting legal conversation that is way too advanced for the gaming community

Sounds more like the wife did something bad, she used the channel to stop him from getting something else. The non compete is the only thing that makes the channel worth anything, why would he take it without it?

No it's not.
Men own women, Man owns everything.

Here's the thing, the husband was never even a part of it, never, even in the beginning he was nowhere to be found. I do agree though, Sarah (the real Ara) probably did something bad, but this is California we are talking about... what exactly is THAT bad?!?!

I mean if she fricked him over, I could see why he would do this.

she must have done a number on him, it's just crazy and mind-boggling to me the extent he has gone to for this

i read somewhere that he didn't really even want the channel but she offered it up for him
i got no more details or sources so i'll see myself out and try to look for where i heard that.

it's on the first video I linked
I will say though, this is an ex husband, and he was 100% lying his arse off on Saturday night in the chat of the Ara twitch channel, saying things we all knew to be completely wrong... so while he might be telling the truth, he could also be lying. Like my grandmom always said, if you ask 2 people what happened in a situation you get 2 half truths

Who knows, but if it was her idea to do this, you might want to rethink supporting that person. She willingly put up that community and ditched you to some dude you never knew. California doesn't allow no compete clauses and if she still abides by it, that means she did something she really doesn't want the world to know about... Time to move on from that community.

Which btw makes that non-compete moot, they're outlawed in Cali except for very specific circumstances (which this does not fit in).
