What has the verdict on the episodic format for Hitman been?

I've been reading and hearing a lot about how the 2 episodes have been really good so far. How do people like the episodic format? A common comment I have heard is that with only releasing one episode at a time they have made deeper content with more replayability. Without another episode to play people actually take the time to replay it which is pretty uncommon these days.

It certainly has its advantages. If I had the full game, I wouldn't have gone back to trying to beat missions in different ways. I've only played the first episode though. There are so many options to try that it's certainly time you can invest in every level.

I don't know what it is about episodic games, but I have never purchased one. Don't like paying over and over for the same game that isn't an MMORPG

I don't know if it was intentional but I love that it had that effect.
Another point I heard was that they can sell these for $15 a piece which sounds pretty fair with the replay value. If they sell 4 then it is a $60 game. If they sold it all up front then there would be an Internet backlash about only having 4 missions for a $60 game. I like that it gives them that freedom. This wouldn't work for every game but sounds like it may for this.

I like the idea. Played the beta and hated it though.
I did see though where the second one got some pretty high ratings compared to the first.

That's another benefit. It gives them room for improvement
