Took another swipe at Frieda and made it through the second phase with easily 6/7 Estus left, only to be promptly decapitated, so that was fun

But, I did get the titanite slab I wanted by finishing that second phase, so that’s something. Once again, I could probably git gud, but I don’t feel like it. Back to the main game, and I’ll come back for her once I have the six titanite chunks to get from +8 to +9, then I can go straight to +10 with my slab.

Yhorm and Dancer down.

In typical DS fashion, I beat Yhorm and then took a crack at Dancer with only the estus I had left. Found the fight very easy and got her down to one hit before getting greedy and getting taught a lesson.

She then proceeded to kick my arse another dozen or so times before I took her down. It’s like each fight, she would add exactly one new move to her moveset and catch me with it

Nothing more frustrating than to go through a handful of fights, finally getting close only to get smoked with something you haven't seen yet

Honestly, I'm not mad about it, though. I had heard so much hype about the Dancer fight that I was going to be a bit disappointed in hindsight if I just walked through it. Hell, I didn't even realize she had a grab attack until the third or fourth fight

Turned out to be a fun, beautiful fight that I would have mostly missed out on had I not gotten greedy that first attempt.

Dragonslayer Armour and Oceiros both down on first attempt. Champion Gundyr down... after quite a few attempts

I don't know what it is about that guy, but both iterations have just had my fricking number.

Finished D:OSEE. Really fun game for its age.

Probably going to jump right into D:OS2.

I can make it through the first phase of Nameless fairly consistently, but now that I've got that down, I'm going to need a break before I tackle his second phase

Good stuff. One of the best fights in the series.

Not only very cool and unique visually, but combined two phases that were both distinct, interesting, and both seemed fair. Once I began to learn the mechanics, every death felt like my fault. I miss-timed a roll, didn’t manage my stamina, didn’t wait a split second to make sure his combo was finished before attacking, went for an extra strike instead of playing it safe, etc, etc. In my kill run, I just felt in the zone, to the point that it almost felt easy. Finished with 7 Estus and never triggered Tears. Very, very satisfying.

Playing DkS1, DkS2, and now DkS3 all for the first time, one after the other, has been a really fun experience. I have two base game bosses left (Twins, Cinder), Friede and the Gravetenders to wrap up Ashes, then the entire Ringed City DLC with all bosses.

After that, I'm not sure if I want to continue with either Sekiro or Elden Ring, or take a break for a while and play something else entirely. We'll see.

Twins down. It was a fun and interesting fight, but it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Bonfires kindled at both the Kiln and the Dreg Heap. Time to wrap up the DLC.

Finally went back to Spider-Man Remastered on PC.. I was pretty close to the end. I just defeated Vulture and Electro and got through the Scorpion hallucinogen section. Pretty close to the end. Then I'll start Miles Morales which I bought ages ago as well.

When I first beat Friede I felt like I could've cried of happiness. I broke my playstation 4 controller when I was 14 trying to kill the abyss watchers.

I actually didn’t struggle with the Watchers at all, oddly enough. Friede gave me fricking fits, though

Eta: And this was not an “I was in the zone and wrecked her” like I did with Nameless. I put on some heavier slash absorbing armor, was in the zone, did the fight well… and still ended the fight with only one estus left

I had to use the summon thing outside the arena and I would hit friede a few times and then run away in fear. Took me a whole night. Watchers were such a pain but honestly they are my favorite fight in the whole game. Nameless just pissed me off with the dragon stuff.

I’m a masochist, so I’ve been doing my entire first playthrough, through all three games and DLC, with no summons and no cheese (real cheese, like fighting from where bosses don’t fight back, not “cheese” like parrying Gwyn).

So yeah, Friede was fricking hard

Good for you. Seriously. Too many people find whatever OP glitch out there, blow through the game, then call it easy.
