Watchdogs 2 is inferior to the original

The first Watchdogs was by no means a goty candidate, but it was a decent open world sandbox for next gen consoles while we were still waiting on GTA 5 to come out on them.
The second game has the worst group of characters I've seen in a game since Star Ocean 4. The missions are all terrible. Most all of them revolve around sneaking into a place which is fine, but if your nose hair sticks out of cover, every guard in a 5 mile radius zeroes in on your position in seconds flat. Shooting enemies does no good as they will endlessly call for reinforcements until you die. It doesn't help that your character dies in like 4 bullets.

the original was horrid, cant imagine how bad 2 was then

to be fair, most reviewers said that the second game was much better than the original. This includes some Youtube network as well and not just IGN/Gamespot.
I don't even mind the increased focus on stealth. Just give me more options once I'm spotted so that it's basically not an instant fail, and do a better job with level design so there aren't random guards roaming all over the place without any easily observable pastern to their movement.

I never played the first but I got the second as a present.
There was just something weird about it. It wasn't bad and I played about 20%, but there was nothing to hook me into keep playing.
I guess I liked the idea of it more than the actual execution.

I've been trying to finish this game for years. I play it for a bit and then get bored after a few chapters everytime. Probably could finish if I didn't restart each time due to forgetting what is going on.

I finished the first one but didn’t particularly enjoy it. Got the 2nd when it was on sale for like $10 and couldn’t even get to the meat of it before uninstalling
