Or you just won't get it until the 11th, lol. Im getting worried my Gamestop hasn't shipped yet. This is my first purchase at launch so I really don't know what to expect.
Maybe I was wrong to expect it to actually arrive on the 5th. Maybe they ship on the 5th.

My Target pre order had said preparing to ship for about a week now. It has also said expected June 11th the whole time.
Target's servers were in tears the night the preorders went live on April 24, and their shipping window was too loosey goosey for tastes.
Of course, their inventory was showing all over the place at the time, too, but I decided not to pursue buying from them any further.

I usually wait a solid 3-6 months
Worst part is, there are some games I want to buy right now but I'd rather just wait until i get the new hardware

With there only being a handful of the S2 games, I'd say there's no time like the present if there's anything in the current Switch catalog that you're eyeing. (Especially if Nintendo has some killer sales to tempt folks to find other titles that will play on both).
I bought the digital version of the Lunar Collection this week because I know there won't be a lot of mainline S2 games other than MKW that I play until they have Mario/Zelda/Splatoon games released.
Gonna play the hell out of some Breath of the Wild Master Trials, however.

The only reason I say that is because I also pre ordered a series x from target when it came out and it did the same thing. It said it would come to me about a week after release and then randomly sent me the shipping info and showed up at my house on launch day

Supposed to have a Switch 2 party at a couples' house Saturday. Another couple is likely to be there with their two rambunctious and rowdy kids - he's getting a non-MK Switch from the hosting couple. I'm getting the 2nd of two MK bundles from the host and they have the other.
Paying him Thursday and bringing ours home tomorrow, but do not want to take it to the party. Those kids are a menace and I just know with all the MK that will happen the joy cons will get passed around and I'll end up with the ones those kids manhandle all night.
What would you all do? I like keeping my stuff pristine and in good condition as long as I possibly can and I do not want my $550 Switch 2 joy cons scuffed and manhandled right off the bat.
I plan to tell the host ahead of time tomorrow my reasoning so I do not have to have a weird conversation with the other guy/dad ahead of the party saying anything. I'll be too anxious/nervous the whole time if we bring our Switch.
I believe we'll have 6 joy cons in total though given the hosting couple's old set which I understand can be paired with the Switch 2?
Am I ridiculous?

I walked into Best Buy and lucked into getting my Switch 1 on release day with no pre-order. I’m going to try that again but not very confident

If Walmart can make good on their promise of a 9am delivery on launch day, then they win the preorder wars, IMO.

Got mine late in the day, and they actually had 3 orders cancelled and were just sitting there. Made some young kids day that showed up trying to get one.

Yes, Nintendo has confirmed that Switch 1 controllers (including Joy-Cons and the Pro Controller) are compatible with the Switch 2. You can use them wirelessly and even charge the Pro Controller by connecting it to the Switch 2 dock via a USB cable. However, some features like charging Joy-Cons on the Switch 2 dock and using the HOME button on the older controllers to wake the console will not be available.
In case anyone doesn’t want to drop a ton of money on pro controllers and shite.

The Pro 2 will also have those mappable buttons on the back side of the grips, as well as the C button that is used for the video chat functionality with the new camera, but something tells me that gimmick will die on the vine before whatever comes after the Switch 2 is a thing.,

I think unless you are doing a private lobby game with close friends, ain’t nobody turning that thing on. People are way too self-conscious for that

I have a younger brother who's a professor at a university in S FL, and I can't even get him to turn on his Switch to play Splatoon and/or Luigi's Mansion 3.
Nobody's video chatting during separate games. It's straight up NEVER going to happen.

I’m WAY too old and cheap to give a shite about those things

Anyone see any campers?
There is a Gamestop across the street from my office in Miami and when I went out for lunch it had a line of about 20 people

There's a chance that the back grip buttons could be useful, but for the life of me I don't know why I'd use them.
I'll tell you tomorrow, I guess.
