Yeah, I keep checking mine, too.
Yesterday, the Switch 20.0.0 system update dropped. It activates the virtual game card function which is pretty cool. I thought it was only first party Nintendo games, but it looks like everything digital I own I can pass on to my wife's Switch.
ETA - You can only loan one title at a time to a given Switch unit, so that's a bit inconvenient if the other player likes to hop titles.
Additionally, it appears that the borrower will need to download the game again at the end of the 2 week lending period, but I'm sure their save data goes to the NSO cloud or is stored locally.

I just don’t understand opening pre-orders so late. Seems like releasing as early as practicable would greatly benefit their ability to forecast and ensure a successful launch

It's a catch 22 for Nintendo - open preorders, even the NSO "register interest" 6 months ago and you cannibalize the last good Christmas for Switch 1 sales and open to endless speculation about the new console in every trade rag known to man.
Be the last to your own party on preorders and everyone else gets to eat while you hope that there are some of the first wave stock left to sate demand for your most loyal fans.
Then again, these guys are the kings of Please Allow Us to Show You the Only Acceptable Ways to Enjoy Our Game, so who the frick knows what they're thinking?

Since I had good luck with the Target app when I preordered my PS5, I decided to try it again for this one and managed to snag the Mario Kart World bundle with minimal hassle.

Do they have a delivery date? On preorder night, they couldn't promise delivery sooner than a week window from the 6th-11th

To this day I still have no clue when my Gamestop order will be delivered.
Walmart definitely has the best pre-order delivery arrangement.
Edit: i went and checked Gamestop's website again and it states "on or after June 5th" lol.
If they were smart they would let customers change their delivery method to be in-store up to a certain date. They could save money on shipping.

Yeah it still says 6th to the 11th, so who knows when it’ll show up.

That sucks. Here's hoping for a speedy delivery

Anyone get anything yet from Nintendo yet today? Today was supposedly first day for the people who signed up.

Nothing here. Only platinum points balance update.

Button says "Invite Required" for me, and is greyed out.

Nothing here yet. Glad I went the Gamestop route I guess.

I got the email. Originally tried to just get the GameCube controller but it won’t let you buy anything without getting a switch 2 as well.

I guess 15 mins after the direct wasn’t quick enough
Assholes sent me an email an hour ago and I got excited but it was literally just to say they’re updating their user agreement and to cancel my account if I don’t consent.

No invites sent to either account yesterday or overnight.
I imagine most folks will snap up the systems when their invites arrive. They're supposed to be good for 72H.

Looking forward to getting my invite for the bundle. Still deciding if I'll keep my Game Stop console-only preorder.

Some folks have been able to Add to Cart anyway:
quote:
As shared by Wario64, the Switch 2 is now listed on the Nintendo Store. The listing is public, but if you are not eligible, the buy button is greyed out and says that an invite is required. We’ve taken a screenshot of the store listing with this message so you can see it below.
?
However, some of you who opened that web eShop link didn’t see that greyed out button. Wario64 was told at least one person was able to go through with their pre-order before receiving the email. So, what does this mean? It means there’s a chance that if you were eligible to get pre-order invites from Nintendo, you could be allowed to pre-order the console. What we’ve seen from Wario64’s replies is a lot of people waiting for their invites aren’t able to do it yet, BUT there are people who did.
We don’t know what is going on with Nintendo’s systems, but we suspect that it isn’t that deep. It’s simply possible that Nintendo’s systems to open up pre-orders is slower than the system that sends out email notifications to eligible Switch Online subscribers. It’s also possible that rolling the dice on this won’t be that fruitful, and most people who check still won’t be able to pre-order. But of course, US Switch Online subscribers have a month to get in before the console actually launches.
