The Witcher 3

Even though I bought this game upon release, it never peeked my interest enough to continue playing and place in front of other titles I was playing at the time. It collected dust and last night out of pure boredom, decided to try it again. And holy shite, what was I thinking? This game has been amazing so far. Anyone else have a similar experience? I guess I was in one of those dreaded game ruts when I first played.

I've tried 3 times to play The Witcher 3 and I can't do it. It bores me to death..I am a huge RPG fan too.

I've liked it from the moment I put it in my PS4. It will be a game I likely play regularly from now, until the end of time like I do with Majora's Mask and Kingdom Hearts.
The only reason I can't see someone being drawn into the game is they either have extremely shitty taste in good video games, or they're overwhelmed by the amount of ?'s and quests and just don't give it a fair shake.

I put something like 21 days of playtime in this and the expansions. The most time I think I've ever put in an RPG

I recently started. I haven't formed an opinion yet, but I'll get more into it after Doom.

I finished it but I didn't think it was as special as everyone made it out to be. It's good though.

It's a pretty amazing game and an awesome technical achievement. I admit I was kind of ready to be done with it toward the end just because of the amount of time I spent on it, but it's excellent.

Yeah once you get into Velen it can be very overwhelming at first but after a while you get used to it. it took me about twenty hours or so in game to start figuring the game out. I felt completely lost the first few hours in Velen.

I slogged my way through it last year, I enjoyed it but at times found myself incredibly bored and frustrated with the mechanics. I wasn't particularly interested in the lore and when I finally finished it was more a sense of relief that I could move onto a different game.
I picked up the two big DLCs a couple of months ago and something finally clicked. When I finished Blood & Wine I immediately started another playthrough and was suprised at how hooked I was. I even started playing Gwent! I've come to love everything about the game and it's easily become my favorite of this console generation.

It was a great game. For whatever reason, people kept telling me it was a Skyrim killer, but completely different games, and I still prefer Skyrim.

Me too. I'm trying to prepare myself for 10/28.

Glad others had similar experiences. I'm only about 3 hours in so far and I agree, I prefer Skyrim. It is still a fantastic game deserving of the recognition.

Yea, I think I put around 400 hours just in my first play through. Tons of exploring and what not. Game is incredible.

When I was 9 I played OoT for the first time and it had been my favorite game ever up until I played Witcher 3. Witcher 3 is a masterpiece and is the best game to come out in the last decade IMO.
Yes I'm a massive fanboy over this game. And I never even played a game in the series before this one.

Couldn't get past the tutorial in Witcher 2. Loved 3.
I refuse to buy most DLC. Bought both for Witcher 3.
Played through twice.
Fantastic game. Sure it has the same fetch quests. Those that disagree are deluded, but the monster killing is fun. More than button mashing.
I like that high lvl death awaits you in low level areas.
Nice story. Tremendous game.
Those who disagree suck cock by choice.

I loved Witcher 2. The challenge of combat was great in 2, especially in the beginning. Still haven't played this one yet. I'm a poor bastard so I'm waiting for a new Steam sale.
Just ordered some of the books from Amazon so that should keep we occupied for a little bit.

You did exactly what I did. I had too many other games to play last Christmas and I didn't even give a chance. I decided to start fresh a few weeks ago and I can't put it down. This game is fun as shite. I wish I could equip new weapons and armor while in the shop menu, but other than that I don't have any real complaints.
