I thought the One outselling the 360 in pre-orders would be a good thing

Trying to explain the differences in both consoles to a buddy of mine that doesn't know much about the tech side and just likes to play madden and call of duty casually.
Would it be fair to say Xbox One is more geared towards the online multiplayer experience and non gaming entertainment, while the PS4 is geared towards the more hardcore gamer?

This is true but they kind of fall in a different category, IMO Competitive gamers and hardcore gamers are two completely different things

Still wish one of Titanfall/Halo/Destiny were a launch title, but what can you do.

This was the theme for the last part of last gen.
Although I don't think they are there yet, they are trying to break that mold.

Xbox One is trying to break that mold? I think there is a larger market for casual online gamers than there is for hardcore gamers. The only downfall to that is most casual gamers got to their hardcore gamer friends for advice on which console is better.

Trying to break the mold of entertainment as the only focus. They are clearly trying to do that with the announcement of some exclusive games.

Anyone ever attend a midnight release at Best Buy? I have my X1 and BF4 preordered over there, and just got an email saying they will be having a midnight release.
