I like y'all rivalry. Might have to match y'all up in the division.

Curious for well reasoned answer as to why #4 is getting rejected
Eta: if Bruce, Hamilton, or Heyward was a righty I wouldn't even want the trade

Because Donaldson is significantly better than Johnson, and he's younger, and he's a B potential compared to a C. Stanton is 2 years younger than Bruce with the same potential. So Bruce=Stanton Donaldson>>>Johnson.

Curious why Bruce isn't considered at least a little above Stanton at this point. I could see adding another player, but adding an additional 80+ player is just absurd

Who here would take Jay Bruce over Giancarlo Stanton? It's the same answer you would get if you polled every GM anonymously. I have a hard time believing that when Stanton gets done progressing he won't be a 98 OVR player. Bruce has peaked at 93. Johnson is a 78 (I believe) and Donaldson was an (86?). Johnson is on the absolute decline and Donaldson will stay at 86 or maybe drop to an 83-84 next year.. Johnson meanwhile will decline to roughly a 72-73 next year. This is why I feel another 80+ OVR player should be included. You can't just get a superstar without paying for it and giving up an aging 3B who is already in decline and a extremely talented RF who has reached their peak just wouldn't get the job done. Put this trade scenario to test in real life. IF the team controlling Stanton WANTED to move him, do you realistically believe that a combination of Bruce and Johnson would be enough to net him? Not a chance in hell.

Here are the stats for Bruce and Stanton, you tell me which one you would want on your team:
Bruce:
Contact R - 73
Power R - 88
Contact L - 59
Power L - 83
Clutch - 76
Vision - 54
Discipline - 80
Stanton:
Contact R - 67
Power R - 88
Contact L - 82
Power L - 99
Clutch - 70
Vision - 44
Discipline - 92
----------------
as you can see Stanton is a bit behind in contact vs R, but far surpasses Bruce against left handed pitchers. This alone makes Stanton the better hitter. So at this point in the season, I cannot say that Bruce is better than Stanton because it's just not true.

Please post defensive ratings to see the whole package
I'm willing to put a solid backup 70s player in addition, but not 80s

All of your 70-79 OVR players are C potential guys with the exception of a 75 OVR A potential SP (Currently in AA). Even though we all know that defensive ratings mean just about nothing because we all care about how a guy can hit, i'll post them for you:
Jay Bruce:
Fielding - 83
Arm Strength - 93
Arm Accuracy - 80
Reaction - 76
Speed - 55
Base rRnning Ability - 22
Base Running Aggressiveness - 27
Stanton:
Fielding - 57
Arm Strength - 76
Arm Accuracy - 61
Reaction - 59
Speed - 50
Base Running Ability - 15
Base Running Aggressiveness - 19
----
Clearly Bruce has the better arm and fielding ability, but you can't sit there and tell me with a straight face that you aren't trading for Stanton because of his bat. You don't care about the defensive ratings. If you did, you wouldn't be getting rid of Bruce in favor of Stanton.

If Bruce was a right hander it wouldn't matter
My top 4 hitters are lefties, I just want a comparable righty.
If it makes that much of a difference I'll just trade Bruce for Stanton directly 1 for 1 so y'all can be happy. I think that is fair

a comparable righty OF would be a Matt Kemp, not Stanton.

That's the response I had when you said you would offer Bruce straight up for Stanton. I am glad we agree on something. Learn how to not trade rape.

How is trading a 27 year old 93 rated A potential player for an 88 rated A potential player at the same position not fair?
I don't give 2 shits in the difference in quality between these players in real life, on the game that's a fair trade
You would instead have me trade for a 30 year old 89 B guy...get a grip
