OoT had a great story. WW too.
This story did it for me. Especially watching the cutscenes all out of order. i assume other amnesiacs also don't recover their memory in chronological order
I liked the ancient technology angle, the roles of the guardians and divine beasts. I like that Zelda kind of sucked because she's so perfect in every game
The ending was way too safe and routine (in a game that breaks so many series conventions

She entered a suspended animation of sorts I suppose.
But I agree, she should've been old or dead at the end

You know I had the same thought. It breaks the mold in such the right way that I can't stomach wearing the traditional tunics in game. I'm trying to pick up my 3DS and play MM but really don't want to engage in that same ole song and dance. Not after what we just did in BotW.

Ocarina's strength is its scope and not story. Majora's strength is its story and not its scope. Like if they were to make Zelda movies, you'd have to radically change Ocarina to make it work for the big screen. MM, WW, and BotW you're given enough to work with to not betray the games themselves. You can't have Link just finding 3 rubies, awakening 7 sages, and have it theatrically work. There's not much narrative need for the temples in Ocarina, which is why it isn't a great story. The only time the story is enticing is between Jabu Jabu and the Forest Temple.
Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword you completely have to start from scratch though due to how much of a mess the second half of both those games are.

Agree. The twists the story takes in OoT along the way are pretty good. But also wasn't comparing the stories of OoT and MM. Was comparing OoT with BotW.
MM's story is so different from others in the series it stands alone. The way the story is really told with side quests and other characters thast aren't part of the main quest line makes it difficult for me to compare stories with MM. MM made me feel a sense of hopelessness the whole time. Which I love, its the reason the Half-Life series is my favorite series.

Have been crazy busy at work the past week and have maybe logged 8-10 hours this week. Still on two divine beast, 12 hearts, one full additional stamina wheel, all towers and maybe 4 memories. I spent last night doing about 8 shrines and just exploring areas just west of the plateau that I kind of ignored at first. Just started the Rito stuff. Gonna have to wait for the kids to go to sleep tonight but I'm going to tackle that beast. Afterwards I am deciding between the lost forest and Guredo area. I've already been to both areas but just passing through to see what's up.
Still loving the game and I will echo what other's have said. I'm not sure how I play OOT (which I go back and do every couple of years) or anything else ever again.

I haven't played the game as much as I would have liked to since I've gotten it, but I had my first real LOL moment.
Trying to find my way to Goron city I came across these Moblins (I think) and I didn't have many good weapons on me at the time, so I wanted to engage with a bomb. I threw the bomb at him and he charged after me, the bomb fell and rolled up to him, and my finger slipped and missed the detonate, so the dude just kicked it away.. was a totally a WTF moment. No idea where the bomb went but he booted the hell out of it. I let him kill me because I had a save pretty close by and I think he deserved it.

You can get the Master Sword now BTW.

Took out thunderblight Gannon last night. Master sword finished recharging right when he was vulnerable at the end..Pretty satisfying kill.
Gonna clear the desert then head to death mountain and hunt fireproof lizards

Yeah, Thunderblight is definitely the most difficult of them.

I feel like everyone's first main dungeon is the Zora one
Posted on 3/25/17 at 1:15 pm to FourThreeForty
That's what I did. I think its probably what most people run into because of the initial direction given off the plateau to go to the two villages to the east.

Well you meat 1,000 zora along the way. The mission pretty much starts just off of hyrule field
It's intentional

If they killed off Zelda at the end, I'd throw this game in the garbage and punt that motherfricker.
I know it's what makes games great but I mean jeez! That would make my life feel totally pointless after all that shite.
This is all that had happened to him over the years:
1) No one remembers who he is/was except for a select few in Kakariko and some other towns who are a good bit superstitious.
2) Essentially his fiancée to be gets killed and has her soul trapped in a robotic elephant until someone saves her.
3) Any and all of his friends are now dead or very old.
There are a few more I could name but I'm a bit too lazy for that.
On a side note, I thought it was pretty funny that when you talked to Kodah, she said she felt sorry for making you choose between her and Mipha, but now she's happily married and has 2 kids
The writers for this game are savages.

It definitely needed a FFX type ending
I know all of his friends are dead but outside of Mipha it's pretty much all inconsequential

I do like how Link is into the half fish species. Props to him.

Has anyone had any luck with star fragments? I've only seen one, and I've been playing like nonstop. This is killing me.
Posted on 3/25/17 at 1:49 pm to P-Dawg
I've seen a few stars shooting by and a light pops up. I've only hunted down 1 and it wasn't hard to find
