Which Ganon fight? The first one or the actual pig Ganon?
The first one was at least a little challenging I thought. Of course I was only operating on 7 hearts and a shite ton of stamina.

After playing him I definitely think it's a challenge I'm going to pursue
Leaving the plateau and heading straight for ganon

Yeah the Master Sword or any weapon giving you 60+ damage a mildly upgraded armor he was easy. Also everything Ganon does we saw already in the other fights.
As for the pig version. It felt a little out of place. Anyone have the same thoughts? It didn't transition well.

There is no place we can see our progress right?
I've maxed all armors, 120 shrines, completed all missions but only have 82 Korok seeds. No way in hell i'm going searching for those little fckkers. Still can't believe they have 900 on the map!

The Ganon fight is a little too easy. That is one thing I wish the game bumped up, was the Ganon fight. Give us a challenge to finish the game off.
I got killed twice though. Don't know what that says. Mostly just me being careless not paying attention to my gauge.
But what an amazing game. It's official: this is a better game than Majora's Mask. It makes all the other entries in the most critically acclaimed video game series of all time look laughable in comparison. Can there be higher praise than that for this game?
And for the main quest completion ending, that is just beautiful. What a great ending to debatably the best game ever made. Hayao Miyazaki made a video game, this would be it. I'm blown away by this game, and only 2 have managed to do that before: Mario 64 and Majora's Mask (sidenote: I played Majora before Ocarina). They've really outdone themselves.

I'll say this. Storming hyrule castle in previous Zelda games is no longer as epic as it once was
I know this is the best Zelda because other than ocarina, WW and the original. I'm not sure I could stomach to play any other Zelda game after playing this and those 3 games just got a lot less fun

Wind walker has it beat on the finale
You don't even step foot in hyrule until the end, putting the sword in ganondorf's head and the reflooding of hyrule.

Yeah, I mean Jesus Christ is storming Hyrule Castle epic in this game. Just every time you go you try to figure out a new angle to go at it and just have shitloads of intimidating enemies from all sides coming at you. And the soundtrack even put "Road to Bowser" to shame.

Yeah, it's so good it ruined about 6 games that are very objectively Top 100 games of all time (2 in the Top 10). This may be the best/worst thing that happens to Zelda. And for this game ruining Majora's Mask, I demand the sequel go to Termina and give us this experience there.

That was a strong and solid ending. I just can't explain it yet (beat it an hour ago) I just found this somewhat stronger. Maybe my thoughts will come together eventually to explain it, but I literally stood up and gave the game a standing ovation for that very touching ending.

From a story perspective Zelda is front and center. I think something was needed to make it less predictable at the end. Zelda is elderly and maybe she dies having finished her duty. Or maybe she's dead and fought ganon as a spirit, maybe that's why she could speak to link telepathically instead of it being part of her divine powers.
Having said all of that, the real story is the story of hyrule. The devastation, the ancient ruins probably forgotten about before the calamity. When you defeat ganon, hyrule is still in shambles. Maybe we see something small happening elsewhere in hyrule as a result that teases a sequel story
I just think they played it really safe with the ending. When she asks link if he remembers her, perhaps this was the time to have link finally speak and say "yes" they embrace and roll credits

Absolutely but not as great as the rest of the game and as interesting as some (not all) of the other cutscenes
dont get me wrong, this is my favorite game ever made and it's not even a month old

It's just Zelda is established as such a tragic character who is in totally over her head completely against her will. She's really a dork at heart, but she, even over Link, is expected to save the world and defeat evil incarnate. And then everyone she ever knew save for Link is killed due to her not having the competence to do what her father and kingdom has been beating over her head. Accepting her faults at the end I thought was a very powerful ending for her.

Which is why I think she should have died.

I understood that scene to be her being unburdened and confident

Which I think all 3 of those go hand in hand.

MM wis my favorite Zelda. Also used to think it the better of the 2 N64 titles. Leading up to the Switch's release I replayed OoT and came to the conclusion that OoT might be the better game. I was blinded by some type of emotional attachment to MM.
Now..
BotW is the best Zelda game but the story really didn't do it for me. OoT's story had a lot of twists during that adventure. From the whole Kid to Adult, Ganonorf showing up, Sheik being Zelda. Everything about OoT's story was epic.

Long story short, we don't see a cause and effect
We beat ganon but for almost everyone alive their life remains unchanged
Ganon was killed, shouldn't we get an effect that makes the effort feel more immediately worthwhile

You know I had the same thought.
It breaks the mold in such the right way that I can't stomach wearing the traditional tunics in game. I'm trying to pick up my 3DS and play MM but really don't want to engage in that same ole song and dance. Not after what we just did in BotW.
