This is my guy so far. I am still getting absolutely DESTROYED in the DZ because i'm not high enough ranked. Trust me, this game is a blast. A grind, but a blast.

man, I don't even look at blue gear anymore never thought I would reach that point because I remember I used to get stoked about finding blue gear and throwing all my mods on it and what not. Then I got blue and it became purples and so on

Am I the only one who feels like this game's interface is a fricking mess? I'm pretty quick to pick up on specific quirks of a game, but I always wander around the menus absolutely lost. I'm only a level 8, so I haven't been in the game that long, but it sure is taking a while to get a feel for things. The map feels far to cluttered and hard to cycle through completed main quest missions and side missions.

Als, am I better of selling items or scrapping them?

Yea man. It's rough as hell. I'm level 30 DZ now so it's getting a bit easier to run through people.

Bought the game Friday, got to lvl 12 last night and decided to go in the DZ. I was doing OK because I had just crafted a blue bolt action rifle that killed the lvl 10-11 purps in the DZ in 3 head shots. Never found one purple drop. Do they only drop to certain levels or from certain mobs?

Also had one other agent step in front of my rifle as I pulled the trigger... instant death and instant rogue... sucked.

Generally speaking, you won't be getting many purple drops until you are mostly (if not fully) geared out in blue. Also, when running the DZ, for the highest chances at getting rare drops head to the landmarks (locations with a fist on the map). If the location is purple it means that there are enemies at the landmark that could potentially drop some really good loot. It also may mean that there is a dark zone crate there that could again unlock some great loot for you.

That's pretty much all myself and my party did last night was go into DZ 5-6 and just run in a circle and hit each location as they spawned. If we saw people go Rogue, we ran to them as fast as possible to get them taken care of as well.

Is it worth going to the DZ before 30? I see a lot of people waiting until 30.

Only thing that isn't blue is my backpack and sidearm

good to know - keys are random?

Tips for solo? I generally play at night while kids and wife are sleeping, so microphone work isn't the easiest.

Honestly if I could go back and do the DZ all over again I would have gone in as soon as I could. The reason being is because weapon drops on the PVE side aren't nearly as good as the DZ weapons you can get. I was a level 25 before going into the DZ and I was going up against 25s and 26s that were purple or white meaning they were equipped with insane shields and what not. The only plus side to that is that I was running with friends who were already 30 and they could easily handle those guys so I shot up in the DZ ranks stupid fast.

Once you get to rank 30 though, the game really opens up and the DZ becomes so much harder. There will never be another enemy under 30 once you touch 30 which is why they tell you to hit the DZ before 30.

Tips for solo? Don't go to the DZ lol. Seriously, you will either die trying to accomplish an extraction by yourself from NPC, or you will be targeted by a group of 3-4 because you are rolling solo.

It is not that bad in the lower levels. So far I have just been leveling to the cap then playing Dark zone until I get the best vendor gear.

So at lv 14 go in the dark zone. Then 19. Then 24.

At least at those levels you can go to an extraction zone with enemies a few levels lower than you.

It is to me. Dark zone is fun. We have been doing dark zone more than anything.

DZ was a blast. I'm only level 9 but was playing in a group. It feels like if you're solo you won't last long. If you are in a group that plays well together you should be fine.
