The only way I would be for keeping that aspect of the game is if a group of friends could play the same map at any time. That way you have a chance of one of your friends keeping things up while you are away.

At that point I'd rather just have co-op. I don't want one of my friends trolling me and wrecking my entire camp while I'm in bed

That's messed up. There's definitely too many missions going on at once. They all have a time limit it seems and disappear way to quick. Hell, as soon as I drove out of the church I got called back because we had a "Mercy Killing." Some guy shot the pastor. Now the guy who shot him is sick and I will have to mercy kill him.

I think someone asks that same question in the link I posted. I don't think he got an answer, but it's worth a shot. The only problem is from what I understand, you also get projects completed, vehicles repaired, etc that wouldn't happen while you're playing b/c those happen in real time, not game time. So there's kind of a pro and con associated with literally every aspect of the game.

I guess it would be nice to know so you can have that option if things are real bad. I've got something to do for our new store in Slidell tonight so I won't be able to try anything.

My guess to that is that it wont make a difference.
UNLESS when you unplug your live you go to your date and time and move it forward. Then it would advance your game however far. Because it uses the interal clock in your game. Same thing with certain iPhone games that you can cheat the system on.

i still don't have a large back pack or anything other than pistols and shotguns. i've searched and cleared every building in the city next to the church.
I found my large backpack in the campground at the beginning. It was in one of those cabins.

The main reason I was into this game was because it was supposed to be a realistic survivor.
I love the fact that there are too many missions goin on at once. It makes you decide what to save and what to do.
If there was ever a zombie breakout bad situations wouldn't wait in line for one another it would be utter chaos with you having to make tough choices. IMHO

I found a way to make the game stop advancing when your not playing. Since this is the only game I'm currently playing on XBox, I just pause it and keep the game on while I'm away. Sure my XBox is on for days at a time but I usually leave it on anyway.
So basically I just keep it paused it while I watch TV, get on my comp, eat, sleep, whatever. I just leave it on.

The old NES "save" trick huh?

It's worked so far.
I turned it off for the first time last night though so I'm sure I will have some shite to fix when I get home.

My input is....WGAF?
So you need to start over. Cry me a river.
The only part that is BS is a character you've built up dies without you killing him by doing something dumb. If its my fault,so be it, but to kill them off while I sleep is retarded.

So the guy bitching about too many zombies in a zombie game has no issue with the game progressing while you aren't playing?
Posted on 6/7/13 at 10:26 am to SaintLSUnAtl
Too many Zombies affects me WHILE Im playing.

And progressing the game affect while I'm NOT playing. I can deal with getting swarmed and having to fight them off if I'm there. Kinda sucks if moral gets low, folks die, and we run out of shite while I'm watching Parks and Rec with the wife.
FWIW, I'm not 100% as to what specifically will/won't happen while I'm gone. Even the devs didn't go in to great detail
quote:
If you left:
- your community in pretty good shape, morale wise, and
- cars in parking spaces near your base and food in the kitchen,
- weapons in need of repair in the lockers near your workbench,
- and sufficient time has passed,
You will come back and find that people are happy, repaired cars and weapons, and possibly some new stuff from the things your survivors did while you weren't there. Their lives continue, as independently as you saw them living when you were online
ok. i've read some people's experiences were a bit different
quote:
If you left:
- Morale sliding, and
- Too many infestations (please note, we're ACTIVELY working on a change where we reduce how much square footage is considered in this calculation to make it a little less...insane...), and
- Vaguely ominous warnings about someone looking sick, and
- Not enough beds for people to sleep in,
You will come back to find the **** has hit the fan.
It continues on the path you set.
ok. shite hit the fan. did people die? did the safehouse get swarmed? are you completely out of supplies? what?
so basically they're telling me that if I have some place to be, I better not turn the game off until everyone is happy and healthy or everyone is dead when i get back?
kinda sounds like i better not play the game unless i have a couple hours to make sure everything is gravy before i go to bed

So did they say this might be episodic? I'm getting near the end and can see where it might go next.

Brannen says "frick you to open world games. I make them LINEAR!"

First night I played, shite was hitting the fan. There were 2 growing infestations, feral zombies and I hadn't collected any building materials or established outposts. I was still figuring things out. When I got on yesterday there were 3 or 4 growing infestations, multiple feral zombies, and all my people were freaking out. When Marcus got tired I switched over to some other douche to go scouting for new place to live. In the meantime Marcus and maya and some others all went out and got themselves killed.
I was so mad I started just suiciding other people into zombie hordes. Btw it will keep spawning new people for you after you kill off your others.
Keeping the infestations down and turning those houses into safe zones and eliminating special zombies seems like the biggest priority in terms of side quests.

INFESTATIONS- Hellz yes! I cleared all 3 in the town and while I cant whistle down Main Street , It seems I have less of the Zed hordes roaming and fewer solo zeds popping up randomly.
Havent been to see the judge yet, I think I'll just leave woodbury alone for now.
Take back the town for the living one house at a time.
