Space Engineers - PCPosted by 1MileTiger

Anyone else playing this game? I know it's been out for a long time now, but I just recently picked it up. I've been enjoying the open world sandbox gameplay, but it gets a bit lonely playing solo all the time. The servers are usually gimmicky and perform like shite too.

I was interested until a friend told me it was very complex with a large learning curve. Is that your experience?

i don't think it's that big of a learning curve. It does take a bit of intellect to pay. Engineering and physics type stuff.
It's fun but it can be a bit of a strain on your computer if you build a ship or base that's too big. But that's like BIG big...

The learning curve can be steep, but I got the gist of everything in 2-3 days of tinkering around. It's much quicker if you play with someone who knows what's up.
You can build basic structures and vehicles, but it also opens you up to really fantastic mechanical creations.

Yeah it's a great game. My biggest struggle is I don't have the most creative of a mind. Sometimes I'd struggle to build something that aesthetically made sense or build in a way that plans ahead.

Soviet Womble and his clan usually have outstanding bases. Not sure if you know who he is but he has a great youtube channel and streams on twitch. He's in England so he's only usually on during the afternoons our time.

Is it like Kerbal space program?
Johnson passed for 238-yards and 3 TD's vs. the Gators.
