With as awesome as they did Mr X in RE2 I have high hopes for Nemesis.

Mr X was very ominous and created a ton of tension but he really wasn't all that dangerous. He never ran and never used weapons. He also didn't really even do that much damage compared to lickers. His presence was scarier than the danger he presented.

Nemesis in RE3 is a nightmare because he usually sprints at you and later has a f'ing rocket launcher.

I want to see him have a lot of unique and brutal kill animations too. Like if he gets a hold of you it should be GG.

Like everyone said if it's the same quality as the RE2 Remake none of us will be complaining.

Trailer

Special Developer Message

So they developed this in conjunction with RE2 as they were originally supposed to be released together. both projects got too big and they decided to release them separately.

RE3 will ship with RE Resistance, which is the asymmetric multiplayer game that has had several trailers come out.

cant wait

I was expecting a longer wait. Great news. Hopefully the online mode is good, but I’m down for the single player if nothing else.

I wonder how the length of the game is. These old school RE games were not very long. Horror games in general are never that long, it would be impossible to keep it scary or any sort of tension over a long game.

RE1 solved this problem by having two different character scenarios, Chris and Jill.

RE2 took it up a notch and not only did you have 2 different characters, but two slightly different scenarios for both. If you loved the game and did all 4 playthroughs it def. made the game meatier.

RE3 has only a single character and single scenario. If the game stays true to the original plot and pacing, most casual playthroughs will take probably 5-10 hours.

Maybe that's why they are adding in the multiplayer game with it.

I am hopeful that they flesh out the plot a bit more.

It’s my understanding that this game was kind of an afterthought that was rushed to hit release on the ps1 platform before it became obsolete.

Perhaps the first part of the game can revolve more around an escape attempt with the stars pilot which nearly succeeds but is dashed by nemesis. I seem to recall that all you really do with him in the original is meet in front of the police station which leads to a quick death for the pilot.

I'm not sure about the rushed stuff but I do know it wasn't intended to be RE3.

Code Veronica was actually supposed to be the official RE3, and Nemesis was the spin off title.

Capcom had signed a deal to provide the Dreamcast an exclusive RE game and thought it would be confusing to release RE3 for the Dreamcast because many people buying the Dreamcast might not have played 1 and 2.

So they basically just changed up titles. Code Veronica lost the RE3 moniker and Nemesis gained it.

In retrospect that was def. the right decision. RE3 feels way more like a natural continuation of the original story, since it has the same look and feel of the first two and Racoon City setting.

So yeah, Code Veronica probably was the flagship RE product within Capcom when they were both being developed. RE3 came out in the fall of 1999 without much fan fare, I remember picking it up at release. All eyes in the gaming world were on the Dreamcast and PS2 at that point.
