built a Sag Mill last night. Damn. I wish I had that sooner.
Gets a lot more metal from the ore.
I'm trying now to figure out an automatic stone brick maker.
I have the cobblestone, I need that to pipe to an oven, then go to a holding chest, then to an autocraft table then to a chest.
This has to be possible I think??

sag mill or pulverizer is definitely the way to go for ores.
Cobble stone to stone brick generator can be set up on complete automation using extra utilities transfer nodes and some item conduits.
Setup up a lava source/water source to make cobble using an item transfer node with world interaction upgrade. Send that to an ender io alloy smelter and output it into the autocrafter and so forth.
Get some solar panels going to power everything and you can just build away without any resources needed.

cool, I've been working with engines and generators.
I'm going to build some nodes later. I need to make the smelter as well.
I'm still using sterling engines as a primary source of power. The nearest oil well to me is 900m and I just realized i can't move a full drum, even with a diamond dolly.

Look up crucibles and magmatic dynamos. This is a seriously easy way to get a very high powered energy setup that costs nothing and is completely automated after it is built. Plus it's seriously cheap. Invar is the most expensive part.
I have 1 cobblestone generator feeding 12 crucibles that are feeding 8 magmatic dynamos and I can add more magmatic dynamos because I haven't hit my lava production limit yet. The cobblestone generator has plenty of room for more crucibles as well.
setup is lava/water creating cobble. Use item transfer node with world interaction on the cobble creation point to transport pipes that dump cobble into the top of all the crucibles. Power the crucibles with netherrack lit on fire underneath it with flint/steel. Liquid transfer node out the side of the crucibles to feed transport pipes to the magmatic dynamos and then pull your energy off the dynamos.

Have you tried shift+right-clicking with a wrench? I've picked up a full lava drum with the blue handled wrench from NEI. Just make sure you have a spot in your inventory for it as it will pop it into an item to be picked up.

Just joined your server today. Looks and runs great. I dont know how that territory thing works but im in a garden biome north of the spawn. MCKiller426 is my handle

It's my first time using something like this also. Basically, when you set your first chest down, it stakes a land claim for you in a 9 x 9 plot, with your chest as the center. You can later expand your plot by using a golden shovel. It prevents other players from destroying your home or stealing materials from you.

Luckily we haven't needed it yet, everyone is nice on the server and willing to help. Not seen any trolling or griefing yet.

yeah the server is great. I've gotten a lot of help. No griefing at all. Quite the opposite.
reminds me, I want to get on. Need to go get some iron to start building these machines. I ran through it. Then I want to get a smelter. then look into more efficient energy.

Drums can be picked up with a wrench or broken with a pick. Dollys are only used to move containers with items in them such as chests and barrels as well as mob spawners.

I've started building my 188 magmatic dynamos to power my enderman spawner.
Seems easier than the 8192 solar panels to build the solar panel 6s.

So...does anyone know the coordinates to where the portal comes out at in the nether. I don't want y'all to judge, but I'm lost in the nether and I've got a ghast on my arse and only 10 cooked squid left. I'm not saying how long I've been stuck here.

I had a drum of sledge I was trying to pick up.
The nearest oil to me is 850 m so I was filling two tanks and using dollies to bring them back. I was hoping I could do the same with oil filled drums.
I'm still a noob and just last night got my sterling engine working. I have a generator powering my macerator and all. I built this battery pack too, but I can't figure out how to use it.
I just built some machine chassis and was going to build some more refining tools and power generators but will wait till later today.
I ahev been spending long hours just walking around on the game.

Hours spent exploring > hours spent building a walkway. But at least it's close to my place now and then I'll have easy transportation soon once I finish the rails down to the south.
But I think it's time to go exploring again. Maybe go east this time or take out a chocolate quest castle. Last two I tried to get into were already cleared out save for random mobs spawning in the shadows.

How do you get the materials to build at that scale?
I keep running out of iron and coal. I still am yet to find one diamond and I just can't fathom building some of these things.

That was you? Man you built that fast. Thanks for it though it goes right by the oil and right to my house.
I like it. I was shocked how fast you were going. I fell down a hole to level 3 yesterday after moving a mining machine. I was stuck down there for thirty minutes with no way to get out until I found the hole (I wen looking for minerals and broke the only tool I had on me) When I got back to the surface you had passed my house and were by the spawn.

Focus on smaller things like the smeltery. I'll help if you want. Then the work stations that go with it (stencil table, stencil chest, part builder, tool station, tool forge).
Then use the tool forge to make a hammer. The hammer is helpful because it clears in a 3X3 area. So for every block you break, you get the surround 8 blocks as well (well not dirt, or gravel, or maybe obsidian).
If you need more info, Tinkers Construct Wiki
It has links toward the bottom for everything involved. The other benefit is that as tool wear, you can repair them with the same material (say, iron or steel) or you can also add a moss ball to allow for auto-repair (granted at a slow rate).
Well if you hold shift for sneaking, you can walk to the edge of a block and place another block. Once you get a rhythm going, it can go as fast as block every second or two. Then the main limitation is cobblestone supply, so I mined a few areas out along the route for additional materials (which explains the nerd poles up to the platform at some places). They are all in the sides of hills/mountains and lit up to not become mob spawning areas.

Quarries. I've quarried like an entire ocean.
