So Bioshock 4 is being made without Ken Levine?

Game is going to be a schlocky, bloated mess.
Female lead, so I expect the patriarchy to be the targeted evil.
Ftr, I disliked 2

Ken Levine is the reason 1 and infinite were treasures.
Such great storytelling.

Same here, I liked the story a little, but just because it took place in the universe.
Don't ruin my Bioshock.

I’m all for more immersive sims but it will be odd to have a bioshock without Levine’s influence.
That said, bioshock infinite really wasn’t a game so much as it was a subpar interactive means for Levine to mentally masturbate. He was starting to get a little high on his own supply by that point, even though I enjoyed the premise he concocted.
Bioshock 1 was a good marriage of concept and game.
Other studios like Arkane and Eidos Montreal manage to churn out good immersive sim product so hopefully they can assemble a team without getting bogged down in social justice themes.

Infinite was more linear, but also more combat focused. Not sure why you would think it was less game than 1.
It had the best villain, the best characters, and the best twist.
1 had a scarier setting, better world building, and more replayability.

Social justice is the opposite of what Levine shoots for. . .his games tend to villainize extremists, and rigid ideological purity.
Game 1:
Libertarian purists vs Union Labor
Both villains
Infinite:
Nationalist/Fascists vs Black Liberation/Communists
All villains.
Bioshock 2 (without Levine):
Extreme faith in science being racist and sexist because. . .white people.

I wasn’t accusing Levine of being overly social justice focused. Just addressing your concerns about a potential sequel. I hope it’s good and not some trite exploitation of the bioshock name to make a quick buck.
I just felt like infinite was less of a game than the original bioshock. I liked the narrative well enough but I feel like they stripped away too much interactivity to service the plot. The choice elements to gather resources were stripped away, the interesting enemy design and strategy to overcome difficult opponents like big daddies were removed for simple shooting galleries. I sound way harsher than I actually am regarding infinite, I just see wasted potential. It’s clear that they changed up their design goals several times in development and it shows.
Bioshock 2 was just a hamfisted inversion of 1 that focused on collectivism instead of objectivism. The problem is that most devs are lefties and they couldn’t lampoon socialism properly.
