I have this one guy that I set as my bodyguard that literally is beating the frick out of everyone he comes up against. He mows down every captain he sees. The only problem is that some of his attacks damage everyone around him, including me.

Played briefly last night. Been focusing primarily on South Park.

I will say this. Being able to summon a drake and using shadow mount to teleport up to it is a GAME CHANGER.

Shoulda held off on collectibles until I picked up this ability.

Last night was interesting. I dominated everyone in the snow area, did all the gathering and took the fortress. There was one misc orc quest so I did it to finish the area.

Big mistake. I killed the guy, he was pals with just about everyone. I had a blood brother attack and at the same time 3 betrayal attacks. Killed all of them which of course opened up more blood brother revenge attacks and more betrayal.

Went from having the entire region dominated to half of them dead.

Oh and I have a new Nemesis. Bastard killed me with his caragor and he jumped from level 15 to 39. I tried to revenge his arse without intel and he killed me again because he has just about no weakness and immunity to arrows, fire and poison. Not sure how I am going to get him back.

Yea I'm finding i get pretty frustrated at bull shite like that. All that time spent conquering and it goes up in smoke. or the orc I really want to get payback on by dominating him, levels up a few levels higher than me after one failed attack because of a bullshite death where I get stuck on the terrain.

That's when I have to take a break and play something else

My only beef with the blood brother nonsense is that it makes it real had to upgrade your gear. I don't want to kill any orc and start a betrayal domino effect so I have to dominate when I would prefer to kill the bastards.

Just got a level 35 "no damage to poison" armor. That is awesome.

Yea I always dominate both blood brothers. if one betrays me, they both die.

just lost an epic orc and a damn good legendary orc because of it

I don't want the game to end so I spent most of the night at the fight pits maxing my captains to my level (35) in the first area.

Not only that but I sent crappy captains at the good captains I wanted since you can immediately attack the winner and dominate them.

So...a betrayal domino effect in this little neck of the woods would be a disaster. Most of my captains are level 35 and most of them have a pack or gang of followers.

I think I have one mission left then I assume I move to act III. I've read Act IV is where the loot share pain kicks in.

I'm still in Act 2 and absolutely loving it as much (more actually) than I did the first game. The fortress mechanic is great. Systematically dominating the right bodyguards for a warchief betrayal never gets old for me. And I like letting my army take care of shite while I calmly and smoothly walk behind them to the defense points. That part of the game is alot of fun with how many different ways you can approach it.

The skill tree provides some flexibility with how you want to play, but it took me way too long to figure out that only 1 boost at a time could apply, and way too long to figure out that i had to buy the story skill boosts. The story quests are just enough LOTR lore thrown in to keep me happy, and the Shebob story is still intriguing so far.

I don't even think I'm 1/3rd through, and that's great.

about to shame his arse into oblivion so maybe it'll stop the cycle

I finished Act III Saturday night. When I read about Act IV, it turns out it is basically just a redo of Act II. I thought the game was fun, but it was repetitive enough that I don't want to play through Act IV. I'm done and waiting for AC Origins.

Rage quit for the night.

I got to ACT IV so I spent the time to upgrade all captains over 40. Maxed out the fortress. Was overconfident that I could destroy the enemy. So instead of waiting for defenses to thin things out, I dove into the fray in front of the fortress and my fumble fingers screwed me when a caragor jumped on top of me.

Boom. 4 hours a grinding gone. All the captains gone. Have to pretty much reconquer the region.

So rage quit for the evening.

Took me about 90 minutes to dominate all of the clowns and retake the fortress.

Had some fun when a level 46 ambushed me and then a level 47 also decided to ambush me. Luckily we were on a roof so there weren't many orcs around to harass me as I murdered those ambush jackwagons.

I still think Legendary weapons are total garbage. I still haven't found 1 with bonuses that interest me more than the epic weapons I have.

Disclaimer.... I tend to like grinding out the combat in these games. I tend to capture as many of the captains as I can and do all the quests and side quests. I guess if you made it to Act IV fast at level 20... that would probably suck.

So far Act IV hasn't been a problem for me other than my colossal mistake with the caragor.

Seems to me the loot boxes really wouldn't be that helpful.

The loot boxes appear to be scaled to your level so you would still need to grind your level and use the Pits to level your captains.

And as I continue to say, the legendary weapons suck so using money to get crappy weapons isn't smart and I've had piles of epic drops. Although I'm stuck with items from level 30 because I love the 5 elf shoot on terror and my no damage from poison is too good to swap out.

Okie dokie. I didn't realize shadow wars was going to be 20 sieges with increasing XP level orcs.

I've been grinding since the start but I've only completed the 5th siege. If orcs keep increasing at the rate they have been, I am not sure how I am going to be able to keep pace with their level.

I can see Shadow Wars ruining the game for lots of folks. Doesn't ruin it for me. I've had a stressful blast. Last siege I nearly died about 3 times. Was so happy to finally see just 1 remaining bad guy with a level I could dominate.

Calling it a night cause I'm afraid to check the level of the guys at the next siege.

About to finish Shadow round 7. So far the Orc levels are right next to mine (currently 52)so it hasn't been too hard. I have been leveling up with each Round.

The Siege is still a pretty big rush because 1 fumble fingers mistake and you can lose a big pile of time to retake that bad boy. Against better judgment, I keep jumping into the fray in front of the Fortress. Someone needs to take out those siege graug.

Some of the ambushes have been rough. I had 1 guy about 9 levels over me and in the middle of that I had a betrayal with a wounded captain then a blood brother attack.

Damn those dominos.

Bean Counters at Warner Brothers really screwed the pooch. The game designers really put together a fun game and from this thread, lots of people are avoiding the game. I've purchased all of the siege upgrades with the normal ingame money and still have 100k to spend on normal chests when I want a quick couple of orc captains. No need to actually spend real money.
