I think I will like breath of the wild, I doubt I'll love it. That's why I won't buy a switch for it. I don't get what is so hard to understand here.

If this cancellation is true, as Wii U owner, I'll be kind of pissed off though not enough to "write Nintendo off." I've had a lot of fun with my Wii U playing Mario Kart 8, Smash, Mario Maker, and Yoshi's Wooly World, just to name a few titles, and don't regret my purchase. I'll probably end up with a Switch eventually but I was looking forward to playing BOTW without having to make the jump.
As far as the quality of post-OOT Zelda games, Wind Waker might be my favorite 3D entry in the series and A Link Between Worlds is maybe the best "2D" entry outside of ALTTP.

I loved link between worlds. All comments I've made in this thread have referred to console Zelda games.

Windwaker was a ton of fun, minnish cap was a lot of fun, there have been some great games.
To bitch that the franchise has gone downhill since it produced one of the most replay able all time greatest groundbreaking game life defining games is a little silly to me.
I'm buying a switch just to play the new platformers just like I did with the wiiu. It was worth every penny to play splatoon, xenoblade, kart, Mario, smash bros, etc...

If you read his whole statement, you can see he's talking about Ocarina of time.
He makes a fairly valid point. Ocarina of Time is widely regarded as tGOAT. Dismissing the series because future titles haven't been able reach that peak is like saying Lebron James is shite because he isn't Michael Jordan.

Because, no offense, you kind of hit every Nintendo thread being super angry. It's a little odd when you seem to like Nintendo, at least in theory and you own a Wii U, but really never have anything happy to say about it. Like you enjoy disliking it
That's what's tough to understand. Especially if Zelda is the last Nintendo game you like, which was inferred by a previous post, while actually not like 3 of the last 4 console versions. I don't know. Better said, you haven't liked modern Zeldas, are fed up with Nintendo, but will be angry if Zelda doesn't come to the WiiU? Odd.
Also, at this point, people have to just expect this from Nintendo. Every Zelda since 96 has been delayed. We've already seen a few split titles among systems. There is no such thing as a company promising anything. If there is a quote where Nintendo says, "It is 100% certain that the new Zelda will definitely appear on the WiiU. No exceptions." then yeah, that might be a problem. But even then, things like this are said all of the time by every company. I like my X1, but they are literally deprecating some features and software. That's way worse than never releasing anything looking at it objectively.

I don't think people have much of a problem with them killing off the Wii U. The debate came about if they canceled Zelda.
