Hey baws, the HDD on my old piece of shite failed a few weeks ago. Good buddy of mine who had just built a new PC gave me his old one for a great price, I just had to buy a SSD and a PSU. Started to play a few games but I'm missing some oomph, as he sold his old GPUs.

I'm working with an i7 6700k on a ASUS Hero VIII mobo. What's my best bet/value for a GPU? I don't do anything crazy (usually play Total War or Paradox strategy games), but I'd like to play some Tarkov or something with my buddies. Would preferably like to keep the purchase under $250.

If you're gaming at 1080p a 1660 should hold up

The strat games you're playing are mostly cpu bound. Tarkov isn't particularly demanding. For now, you could almost certainly get by with a used card with 4Gb of vram. If you want some bargain level future proofing, the 5600xt Hulk suggested is hard to beat.
