Wife out of town for weekend and I'm thinking of grabbing RE:Biohazard for some pre-Halloween scares. From what I have read Biohazard goes back to its roots and is more scare/survival. Is this accurate and is there a good scare factor? My kids are 10 and 13. I'd love to give them some surprise jump scares.. Any other game recommendations that meet this criteria?

RE7 is good enough to give your kids nightmares.

Until you get to the end of the game and then you have nightmares over how much money you spent on it.

I wish that there were more enemy variety, but I thought it was a solid return to form as an atmospheric horror game rather than the action games 4-6 had become.

The latter half isn’t as good as the first half, but so it goes. I am looking forward to the dlc coming at the end of the year.

Are you talking about the game cost or are there in game purchases?

they will have a blast with it, especially if you have VR. played my first run in VR and it was exhilarating. the beginning hours of the game are by far the scariest

i'd recommend. depends on what your options are, but alone at night, lights out on a big tv

the jump scares will get you.

it's a back to basics game despite the first person view. and the time it takes to beat it is perfect for a weekend with the wife out of town

Def. a lot of good scares and a great tense atmosphere, especially for a 10 - 13 year old.

Nothing they couldn't handle though. No over the top gore or nudity or anything too extreme in the game.

It's mostly just the atmosphere and a few jump scares.
