I just finished it. The opening chapters are stronger than the later ones, but I enjoyed the game overall.
I wouldn't mind seeing more games set up in this fashion. Maybe a bit more enemy variety would help a sequel.

Loved it. My only complaint is the lack of enemy variety and the bosses were pretty generic. Atmosphere was spooky as shite and I was genuinely nervous through 90% of the game.

Got this solely to play it in VR today and holy hell its amazing so far .
I'm glad I got the deluxe bc I read that dlc is starting next week already.
This is the game that proves VR has officially made it. I literally almost screamed already and the tension is palatable.

The aiming with VR is so much easier than using a controller too.

The major differences in the VR as opposed to a TV screen are
1) Aiming, my god the aiming. it's a night and day difference when you can just look at the head of the enemy and shoot it, as opposed to analog sticks that are usually inaccurate
2) the sence of presence. In the regular game you can hide behind a box and thats that, you kind of have to guess if the big bad is gone, but in VR you can actually PEEK OVER THAT BOX or around it or poke your head through fence holes and cupboards and cabinets. It's fricking terrifying.

Agreed I just got finished with 3 hours and is by far the killer app for VR. I can't express enough how good of a job Capcom did. We have our first AAA full game in VR and it's worth the price of admission to VR alone

Stop it!
I've had to handcuff myself to keep from buying VR!
Hell, I had the vive in my amazon cart and I was on the order screen before I regained control of my brain.
I want to wait until version 2 but I am faltering.

Yep that's it. It uses the DS4 and it works extremely well. You can tell the devs spent a lot of time tweaking the VR experience

VR gen 2 is going to be way better but I just had to jump in as an early adopter bc the psvr entry price was so reasonable. Glad I'm on the ground floor bc it feels like RE7 is that special game that legitimizes VR and it can only get better from here. I was starting to worry it was only a gimmick but this game has convinced me this is the future of gaming.
Playing this in VR has made me feel and expierince things no other game or movie has been able to. I don't get scared or nervous in horror games or movies and this game gets my heart pumping and I literally get stressed out trying to deal with some of the stuff.
There is a huge sense of urgency when the action hits, and the other parts so far are great in slowly building up the creeps. Jump scares happen but they are not just for the sake of jump scares. They are carefully thought out and the way you work through immediate next sequences is genius. It's like the jumps fire up the tension and they they let you gather yourself and combat the situation slowly letting you down while you battle.
There is an awesome ebb and flow to this game. Capcom nailed it. ThIs feels like that first time I played RE back in the PSone days in the dark. They did a good job bringing RE back to its roots

Yeah it makes a HUGE difference for aiming compared to just using the Dual Shock 4. Thankfully I played through it on PCMR.

PSVR was cool for a bit then it became a paperweight. Luckily a guy bought it off me for $600.

I'm just gonna sell it after I get tired of it if nobody is making good games for it
