re: Resident Evil 2 Remake Thread
Well after 6. There is no other option. I like Leon A the most though. At least in the first game, have not played the others on the remake yet.

I'm debating on just going to Claire A instead of running through B

I’m doing B now. The early Mr X was no problem. Easily avoidable.

Picked this up yesterday. Got a few days off and will run through tonight after beating Spider-Man.

re: Resident Evil 2 Remake Thread
C is lowest there is I believe. There's B, A, and S above it.

In the remake the ranking you get is purely time based.

That's actually another minor complaint I have.

In the original your ranking was based not only on time but also how many saves you did and how many health sprays you used. Was a more interesting system.

re: Resident Evil 2 Remake Thread
That is not true.

You can get S+ rank.
To get S+ you have to beat it in under the S rank time while only using 3 or less saves. Also no infinite ammo guns. And probably amounts of sprays.

sprays dont matter

time
<= 3 saves
no infinite guns (infinite knife is ok)

Ah, wasn't aware of the S+.

The original didn't have S rank in the US version for some reason.
I hate how saves and sprays no longer affect your score. RE3 punishes you just for using herbs.

So glad this isn't on the PSVR. Think I would probably be dead from a heart attack if it was.

RE7 is way scarier. I couldn’t even play 30 minutes in VR lol. I think I might could’ve played RE2 a little in VR but not much

re: Resident Evil 2 Remake Thread
I felt a lot safer in RE7. You could drop Jack temporarily without using all of your ammo. He would be gone for a nice little bit. Mr X is the damn energizer bunny.

You could also completely clear areas in RE7. Then there was a trigger for respawns, then you could clear those. I felt 100 safe at certain points. Not so much in RE2.

Heck Jeremy Jahns punked me. He listed one negative which was Mr. X didn't burst through walls. Ok, he did for me down in the clover heart doors hallyway. I didn't hear him. Thought I was safe and then boom! Might have spooked me even more than when Jack did it.

Also, by the end of RE7, I had an arsenal that could be used to take down a small South American country. Ammo is much tighter in RE2.

Yeah those are all very good points. It’s just the atmosphere of RE7 that gets me. Much scarier than RE2, imo. But Mr. X in VR would be TERRIFYING

The one thing lacking in RE2 is the score. The creepy score in RE7 builds on the atmosphere and that score is lacking in RE2.

I never played the original RE2 so idk what it sounded like, but it definitely needed something thrown in there

An absolutely awesome soundtrack, very fitting and unsettling throughout.

So good they decided to break it off as separate DLC for the remake :GAG:
