Ended up snagging a digital on Amazon yesterday a little after 5. PS Direct and Amazon seemed to drop their release the same time as Walmart did to limit their activity. They had the disk version up, but it wasn't letting me add to the cart. After fricking around with the app for a bit, I saw the digital went up and the process was a breeze from there.
Comes in tomorrow.

Spray painted mine metallic. That white was nice but stood out like a sore thumb with the rest of my electronics.

Well, thanks to this board, I have a PS5 sitting on my kitchen counter waiting for my son when he gets out of school today. I was following the thread on "opening night" a few weeks ago, and somebody posted that Target had some for sale. I was fortunate enough to get a sale through about half an hour later.

Just applied 2nd coat. It takes paint really well. Usually have to lightly sand before applying, but the panels are already a little rough with the miniature symbols all over it. I’ll upload when it’s assembled

Just a FYI for all I ordered through PS Direct on launch night/morning and it just showed up today... so expect 1/2 days at most if you snag one from there.

Yeah, slightly lift up from the slim corner and it comes off easily. So easy it almost feels like it’s broken

I did it yesterday at 2 pm and I had no queue whatsoever. Add to cart, checkout, placed order.
After I posted that it was live in here, everyone was saying it went to a 1 hour waiting room a minute or so after I checked out though.
Hopefully mine comes in tomorrow if it’s shipping that fast like you said

Yup it sat in "Preparing to Ship" status for about 18 hours or so, then it shipped overnight and arrived in like 12 hours.
