You do know that tiles were implemented to the Xbox 360 2 years ago right? I've never heard someone complain about the 360's UI. That being said, all the windows 8 reviews your are speaking of, are likely reviews of windows 8, on PC.
Please point me to a negative review about windows 8 tiles on the Xbox One. Or even a negative review of the Xbox 360 tile based UI.

I didn't see much point using my mouse and keyboard. There is an achievement for playing in big picture mode so I may try that

That's what I was talking about referring to W8 and WP8. People hate tiles and they are far more integrated into the One UI than they were on the 360.

I own a Xbox and ps3. I gave my PS3 away because I knew I wouldn't ever play it but for a few titles. Have a XBone pre-ordered and will be picking it up on the 15th.

I remember now why I stopped posting in these threads. My decision is made. Most everyone's decision has been made but Hog, Taylor, and a few others enjoy arguing about little details that in the long run won't make a bit of difference or change anyone's decision
