Dolphins vs Redskins
Sunday, September 13, 1:00 PM on CBS
FedEx Field, Landover, Maryland
Week 1 had Miami opening the season on the road at FedEx Field against the Washington Redskins. With the eyes of both fan bases aimed directly towards the future, we are reminded of the Super Bowl VII battle that featured the Dolphins capping off a perfect 17-0 season with a 14-7 victory in Los Angeles on January 14th, 1973.
This years Redskins team features a dynamic offensive attack behind QB Cam Newton. He has a strong WR corp to throw to with Alshon Jeffrey, Larry Fitzgerald and Riley Cooper. The size of this WR unit is sure to give opposing CB's fits with the deep ball and especially in the Red Zone. Add in Cam's ability to run and the option of handing the ball to Steven Jackson and you can see why Washington fans expectations are high this year.
The Miami Dolphins went defense early and often at the draft, so they hope to be one of the better defensive units in the league this year led by Khalil Mack and Darrelle Revis. The offense will need some guys to maximize their potential if they are going to approach 30 points per game, if not they will put a lot of pressure on their own defense to keep them in games.
Washington came out and moved the ball with relative ease, marching right down the field taking an early 7-0 lead. Miami had a promising first drive, but stalled in the RZ, resulting in a FG by Brandon McManus. The Skins were not content with a four point lead as they put on a passing clinic on their second drive that ended with them extending their lead to 14-3. Jimmy Garoppolo appeared to be feeling the pressure to keep up and fired a pass into double coverage that was easily intercepted by Johnathan Joseph. The Skins were happy to take a knee and an 11 point lead into halftime.
Jimmy Garoppolo looked much better on the opening drive of the second half as threw his team down the field and into the end zone on just 3 plays. A 35 yard catch and run pass to Austin Sefarian-Jenkins got the Dolphins right back into the game, making it 14-10. With the score still the same in the 4th quarter, Cam was leading his team down the field to put the Dolphins away. They were at about the 30 yard line when Khalil Mack came up with back to back sacks to force a FG try. The kick was up and good, making the Skins lead 17-10.
A healthy drive by the Dolphins that featured more of a focus on the ground game duo of Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson had the ball across the 50 yard line, with Garoppolo’s eyes looking for the tie. With about a minute left in the game he fired a quick out to Marqise Lee who got out of bound to stop the clock. His next pass was deep across the middle to John Brown, who made the catch, but taken down with a shoestring tackle at the 1 yard line. With 45 seconds remaining, a QB sneak tied the game at 17-17.
As the Redskins tried to work their way down the field for a winning FG, Antonio Cromartie stepped right in front of a curl route intended for Alshon Jeffrey and made the play of the game, intercepting the pass from Cam Newton. Two plays later the Dolphins lined up for the game winning kick as time expired and won 20-17.
Solid come from behind win after being down by two scores. Defense adjusted well and held the Skins to 3 points in the second half. Same goes for the offense. After scoring just a FG in the first, Garoppolo led two TD drives and another drive which led to the game winning kick. Still need to see a lot more improvement from the offense if this team is going to compete for an AFC East title this year. The Dolphins are back on the road next week @ Jacksonville.

I haven't looked at anything yet, but OU at -1 looks pretty good. I'll have to dig into it a bit more later this week.

Hey Titties,
Would you mind updating the OP to include people's PSNs? I know it's a pain...just whenever you get around to it.
It was laid out there, all I had to do was swing.

Yeah, I'll get to it eventually. It'll probably be better for me to use my ps4 and laptop at the same time instead of looking through all these pages

Yeah, the Falcons are still available. It would be nice is someone joined the AFC South though because they only have 1 user in that division.
We're hopefully going to be advancing by tomorrow night
Make sure to create a coach
