re: PS4: Da Clan

I have someone explaining to me how we can party up right now in the forum. I think they do it with PSN first, then join a server with a lot of free slots and maneuver to the same team.

It's not ideal but it has worked.

I saw Wes on last night when I logged on. I saw his server was full, so my first reaction was to send him a party invite...but I can't because BF4 doesn't have that.

So my next step was to text him. But my phone was like...all the way over there. So frick it.

I will have some time to play tonight...so let's try it.

I know you have the option to turn those notifications off on the PS3. Maybe it defaults to "off" on the PS4

Negative, no friend online/offline notification and it's not coming anytime soon if at all.

Seems about 50/50 on the board, half want it back, the other half thought it was annoying as shite during games and especially netflix/hulu/amazon and don't want it back.

Part of the reason is the 2,000 friends you can have now, you'd be getting notifications nonstop if you had a lot of friends, or were a streamer and added people off your stream to play and what not.

There's talk it may eventually come back and you'll be able to choose a group of friends to turn the notification on, so you'll only see it for people you care to see.

Streamers would, I've only streamed 8-10 times but have added a good 25 people or so from the chat that wanted to play with me, and a few others from other streams.

I can only imagine the popular streams with thousands watching wanting to play with the streamer.

But the average Joe, I'd imagine wouldn't have 150 friends tops.

I'm pretty sure they said "Groups" was coming later for friends list, you can create a group like Best Friends and then put your closest friends or whatever in that group. They could then allow you enable notifications for them.

That's what I've read at least, if it comes back, it will be with that feature.

Yeah that shite was annoying as hell.

Groups would be perfect, really only about 10-15 people I care to see that notification for.

She'd be the first to admit that, but she knows enough to know how annoying it is to see your name pop up while watching Psych

If she watched better shows, she would be so into it that she wouldn't notice my signing on and off.
