this board makes me think I'm in this stark minority for liking country music.....and then I go out in public or to a concert and realize how many people are just like me
its why I don't respect this boards opinion on much at all

I'm usually shocked when someone tells me they like country music. A lot more people than I would think. The obvious fans are no mystery.
I'm a musician, so my hate for country music has a lot to do with how boring the music is and the formulaic song writing.
Chorus always goes:
"Title of song
Country stuff
Country stuff
Country stuff
Title of song"
But that's a big reason people do end up liking it so much because it's simple and they can relate to a lot of it, because what do they always sing about? Trucks, the river, hot country girls, bonfires, and I guess drinking. I'm over making fun of people for liking what they like because I'm sure some of the music I listen to would make people shake their heads. But country music is whatever. I think papps said the other day that some songs brought him back to his high school days, and I get that.

There's lots of country music that I do like, but there is also lots of country music that just makes me cringe. I don't judge anyone for what they like, I hope that's not the misconception.

I pretty much work with nothing but country boys, so when I go on a work trip with them, that's all we listen to. Starts to wear on you

But everyone in Louisiana outside of New Orleans is uncultured

I've had to go to New Orleans for work a few times over the last couple of months, and every time I want to leave as soon as I get there. I tell my wife that I would love to take our kids to the aquarium and the zoo, but that would involve taking them to that city. So probably not.

Park by Jack's Brewery...walk directly to Aquarium...tour...walk directly to car and leave
that's the way me and the wife do it every time. Zoo isn't so bad. Just fricking packed
I don't mind going to NOLA...but once i'm there, i'm ready to leave. Unless i'm drinking. Other than that...i watch every move anyone around me makes

The rest of your sentence gave you plenty of reasons to "mind" going to Nola
