sign up for the cheapest plan, add when you want to
they have tons of specials all the time, whenever you feel like your paying too much call them and they'll knock off $20-$30 off a month.

Every few months, they call adding HBO/Max/Encore etc for the low price of a dollar or some shite for 3 months.
3 months go buy, my bill jumps from $110-$140, I call, say that I want it back to $110, and they happily take the extras off and get my bill where I want

So, do you have DirecTV for TV and Cox for interwebs? How much is your DirecTV and what does it include?
I'm worried I won't get as many channels that I have with Cox. I like MLBTV, NFL Network, The Science Channel, etc.

your bill will be really cheap for the first year and then you will lose some of your discounts and you have to call and get them to lower it again

Wait, so what's your internet run you? I was locked in for 24 months and that just ended for Cox...my bill was about $187, and that was internet, phone and TV.
I might add, GOOD internet, GOOD TV and the phone is just for my alarm.

i pay about 50 bucks for their 5mb plan from cox, but i think that will go up after a few months
i dont have a phone

I have the same package as croacka with less boxes and my bill is $130 with discounts, and i pay $40 for internet with Cox.
Before I switched i had the bundle from cox and my bill was around $220

My Cox bill was $187 for all that stuff and I had three boxes, one was DVR. It jumped to $234 after my price lock ended so I plan on calling them today and see if they can offer me something before I switch to another provider.

don't let them talk you into another long term agreement though unless you are comfortable with it
directv requires a 2 year contract FWIW....but I've been pleased
just don't think that direct's promo pricing is gonna last for that whole 2 years
some of the discounts run out at 6 months, others at 12 months, and then at 24 months, its full price, yet you can cancel then
