I'm gonna wake up early tomorrow morning and take care of my new plants outside. Probably drink some coffee. Play some OpFlash.

The pride of my new landscaping is a bloodgood Japanese Maple tree. It's on the corner of the house and the entire hood can see it.

(Just a GIS pic, not my actual tree.)

You're right, though. I had zero interest in that in my old house. This new one, though...I'm all about it. Keeping that new sod watered is hawd.

Nothing better than mowing the lawn while jamming to some tunes and drinking a beer.

Advice on new sod

Go to walmart and buy a water sprinkler timer with duel ports, like 30 bucks

Set it up to run everyday, that way you don't have to remember or even mess with it

I'm jelly of all yous guys talking about landscaping and shite.

I bought a "starter" home 4 years ago and didn't want a yard to cut and work in. I regret that decision. I want a yard. I want a big arse yard with a big arse lawn mower to cut it. One day.....a man can dream.

I've pretty much programmed myself to deal with it. And the grass is growing and is green as a post spearmint snoball dump.

I didn't lay that shite, brah. I had my sla...I mean some workers do it. My new neighbor is building right down the road and he's a landscaper. He got me a deal, but my cousin might finish the sodding for me since he can get grass under $100/pallet. So he says.

ETA: Papps, nice choice on them river birches. Black, I don't like palms but to each his own.

Palms are nice, expensive as frick... but nice. My dads neighbor is just getting started on his $50k+ backyard and has a couple huge ones back there... its gonna be a fricking grown-up waterpark
