I went back to Morgan City for work 2 summers ago, and for the life of me, couldn't remember why I was so sad when we moved to Florida. The town hit a wall and decided it was good where it was at.

From Franklin to Morgan City it hit a wall mid-90's.

New Iberia hit a wall around 2002.

Most of this is a result of Lafayette doing well and Houma has done alright.

they will continue on a downtrend unless the gulf picks up and 90 is completely turned into an interstate.

I don't consider Thibodaux a shithole, though...it's a nice little sleeper town and if I was forced to, I'd be alright with living there.

However, I do like actually having a few things to do here and there other than canediving, crawfishing in ditches and playing slop football (I WOULD PLAY SLOP FOOTBALL RIGHT NOW, FWIW).

Most that will happen is the ump will get suspended or a reprimand. Game is still lost.

Which was worse: that call or the one that cost that White Sox pitcher a perfect game last year? Perfect game is a bigger feat, but how obvious was that out last night?

An error that obvious is pathetic without a perfect game or a win on the line.

It was in Detroit, and that guy isn't even on a team anymore I don't think. That was a travesty, I agree.

But in certain times of the game, like at the end of a possible perfect game or crunch time, I tend to think that everyone's attention is a little more intense. It should be that way for the entire game, but I think that's just the way it is. I agree with Cowherd: it seemed like the ump was just looking for a way to end the game. 2:00 in the morning. I don't think he could stand the thought of another inning.

Obviously the perfect game blown call wasn't a big deal since you can't even remember the pitcher or team.
