Out of the five games I played, three were standoff search, and I hate search
Two were played 4v2, and one on capture the flag, which was the first time I played it and I can say I am not a fan

the standoff search thing was weird, I have never played it on that map and then we get it twice in one night.
We killed the 2 hard point maps tho and would have won the ctf had we had 2 more team mates (cool/bt). The most annoying thing about league play is that you can't go 3 maps without someone on your team bailing and having to play 3 on 4 which is pretty much impossible in objective modes.
I frickin hate CTF tho.
They changed the classes to reflect mlg rules.

didn't see too many people on last night so my best friend shot me an invite to play hardcore kill confirmed. i actually like it.
it takes a little bit to get used to not being able to see a map (unless uav is up) and basically everything else. i found that you can't really run and gun as much as it only take 1-2 shots to get a kill. also if you kill a teammate or yourself 3 times you get kicked for that session and have to wait to get picked up again by your team.
after setttling down a little i started doing pretty good.
on this particular game i had scorestreaks as a care package, lightning strike, and sentry gun. i ended up cycling through them about 4 times.
i don't know how the hardcore domination plays but i imagine it would be a little harder just because of how easy it is to die and to also kill your teammates.
eta - you also rank up a lot faster playing hardcore. i started out at a level 14 prestige 3 and ended up a level 20 after about 7-8 matches.

HC is straight but like you said, you need to completely change your game style if you want to do well. It is very good for when you need the no perks/attachments thing to get gold camo.
